With more than 50 cafes across the United States, the Anacostia cafe is the first one in a low to moderate income neighborhood (explained to me by a staff member as I walked into this location). Located in the heart of historic Anacostia at the corner of Good Hope and MLK Ave SE, here's my experience: 1) Space: Located on the first level of new development, the space is new. When you walk in, you pass two Capital One ATMs. Open two more glass doors to enter the cafe. It's set up like a Peet's coffee shop with a large open industrial room with plenty of tables, each with outlets. It's well-kept and inviting. 2) Menu: The cafe functions like a Peet's coffee shop with a full coffee menu from drip coffee to vanilla lattes. They have pastries and other food items for sale and an area with packaged snacks (some are locally made). If you're Capital One card holder, you get 50% off on drinks making this the best coffee deal in the area. Coffee drinks comes in medium and large sizes. 3) Service: The staff are friendly, energetic and passionate. The moment I walked in, a staff member named Jordan walked me through the set up and mission. She was so helpful as were every staff I interacted with. It seems like a great team! 4) Amenities: They have strong, free wifi, outlets everywhere and two rooms that will open in the new year (pending the new strand of covid). One room is first-come first-served for quiet work space. The other is a meeting room that is set up for eight people for free use by students and non-profits. Restrooms are in the back and kept clean. 5) Community: According to the staff, they are invested in the community. In addition to a free meeting room for local students and non-profits, they offer financial literacy classes for neighbors.

I didn't know Capital One had cafes, and if you have a Capital One card, it's half off. The coffee was really good. The one I went to has a landmark from the old neighborhood. I met with Larry, and he gave me the rundown on what they do for the community and for their customers. It's definitely a good spot to work or decompress. They also have a conference room for projects or meetings.

Fantastic work environment and wonderful service. I can't even remember the amount of positive conversations and helpful hands the staff have shared with me. But I'll take a moment to shout out Johnathan and Sandra for their hospitality. This location is work-remote must for me.

Let me share the happiness and warmth I receive when walking into this place!!! My first time here was this summer. I was greeted by Victor who not only gave me the entire run down of why coupling banking and coffee goes hand in hand....he respectfully conversed on other topics around finances, the Anacostia neighborhood and and array of other things community!

I enjoy Jonathan's professionalism and warmth. He is always sharing the happenings with Capital One and I even celebrated the 1 yr anniversary with them a couple of weeks ago.

Let's talk about The Magical Fly Ms. Kim! She somehow has finessed properly making every drink for me, and she has also shared her sweet warmth by asking about my 6 yr old daughter that I occasionally bring through for a fancy drink!

Lastly Jasmine and Fray are beautiful Gems...engaging in conversation, ways business can pour into communities......

Capital One has done it with this location... Please use this store and The Royalty employed here to possibly mimick its...

Capital One Café – Anacostia

Every time I stop by the Capital One Café in Anacostia, I leave in a better mood—and that’s largely thanks to the amazing barista, Kellz.

Kellz makes the best matcha latte I’ve had anywhere—smooth, perfectly blended, not too sweet, and always consistent. But it’s more than just the drink that keeps me coming back. The customer service is top-tier. Kellz always greets you with a smile, checks in to see how you’re doing, and somehow remembers little details—like where you’re headed next or how your last trip went. It makes you feel seen and appreciated.

On top of that, Kellz has this natural way of making you laugh and brightening your day—whether it’s through a funny story, a clever joke, or just good energy. It’s rare to find that kind of vibe in a café, especially one attached to a bank!

Whether you're stopping by to work, chill, or just grab a latte, this location is worth the visit. Kellz is a...
