Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Washington

I want to start by saying I genuinely love Chipotle. But today’s experience was unacceptable. I placed a DoorDash order while at work — something I rarely do — because it’s extremely hot outside. When my order arrived, it was missing the salad dressing. Frustrating, but I decided to drive five minutes to the Chipotle on Pennsylvania Ave to buy two dressings.

When I walked in and politely asked to purchase the dressings, the customer service was absolutely awful. The cashier didn’t even respond to me directly — she just looked at another employee and asked if I could buy them. That person told me no, I had to buy something else. We went back and forth briefly, but ultimately, they refused to let me buy two dressings.

So I left work, drove there in the heat, and walked in sweating — only to be met with rude attitudes and unprofessional behavior. Completely unnecessary.

Let me be clear: If you don’t have basic customer service skills, you should not be working in customer-facing roles. This was a disappointing experience that should not happen at a brand...

Normally I would not go out of my way to read a review like this because I know that Google Reviews is a joke and typically filters the higher star reviews to the top, but this experience was pretty provoking. I used to go to chipotle a lot but stopped in recent years as I noticed the quality has gone down significantly. I probably hadn't been in a year before today (1/25) but decided to give it one last try and ordered a burrito for pickup. I can say with certainty that under no circumstances will I return to chipotle. The entire burrito tasted like it was just pulled out of a refrigerator, no exaggeration. It was only a 3 minute walk from my office so there is no way it could have gotten cold. On top of that, they piled one-half of the burrito with guac and the other with the remaining ingredients so I really only got to eat half of the burrito. Okay so let’s just cut right to the chase…when I first walked in I was disgusted because the floors hadn’t been swept, tables were crummy and it took a few minutes for a staff member to actually acknowledge my husband and I presence. I was 5 seconds from asking my husband to leave when the young fellow welcomed us and got straight to making our bowls. He wasn’t stingy AT ALL with our bowls and made sure we definitely was satisfied! My husband and I sat down with our baby and immediately started digging in. OH MY GOSH..yall when I tell you this chipotle deserve 100/10 stars for how delicious and fresh the food was I MEAN IT! Forget about the tables, unkept floor, the staff…GO HERE FOR THE FOOD!!!
