Based on the wide variety of drink options and expansive menu, I reserved a table for a party of 8 yesterday for my sisters bachelorette party. We arrived on time and had to wait a few moments to have a table put together, which was no big deal. I did notice that the restaurant was somewhat slow, but figured it was a Sunday night (7 PM) and that we had missed the brunch+dinner crowd. Our server was very friendly and came out within a few minutes to get drink orders. She let us know that they were out of upwards of 6 beers on tap that we specifically ordered. As the restaurant was a tap house, I was confused and a little frustrated because the large beer menu is what drew me to reserve a table here. I talked to a bartender and who I believe was the bar manager and was told that, in fact, they were only out of two draft beers and had the rest of the beers we tried to order. I don’t blame the server for this, as it’s the responsibility of the manager and bartender to communicate any tap changes during a shift. We ordered appetizers and food and everything came out hot and fresh. The fried rice was disappointing and the shrimp and grits had an odd texture, but the cuban sandwich, brick oven pizza, and chicken and waffles got high praise. We wanted to order more drinks but couldn’t find our server for about 15 min. We did eventually get a second round ordered, but one drink was missing and no one came back for another 20 minutes so we couldn’t ask for it. When we asked for boxes, our server said she would refill our waters first and then get boxes. This was no problem, although we were ready to head out and didn’t need more water, but no problem. At that point we may have even contemplated dessert and coffee! Or an apertif. We then did not see a single staff member for about 20-30 min. A few of us were wandering around and looking for anyone that could help us get boxes. The bartender was packing a new pack of cigarettes at the bar and then headed out for a break. The manager was nowhere to be found. At about 9:20, our server came to the dining room from the kitchen area and seemed shocked we were still there..but we had never gotten our boxes or the check. Or our dessert, but since it had been so long since we were checked in on we decided to get dessert elsewhere. I completely understand being patient with a new server. I understand being patient when it’s busy and everyone is working hard to make their guests happy. The restaurant was a dead zone last night (also keep in mind 2 tables left while we were there due to lack of a server greeting them) and we got subpar service (no prebussing the table, no offer of upselling, inability to split check, confusion between bar and server regarding available beers, etc.). If I would have seen the manager again I would have given him my feedback but again, he was flighty and difficult to locate. The service staff needs more training and management support; if they have trained staff and strong management they will do well, but I will never be back based on this sub...
Read moreWell what an awful place to have a bachelorette brunch. Never again. This would be my 2nd visit and in my first visit, was “holding” my card but charging me twice and in my 2nd visit as a group of people was even more confusing when we simply asked to separate everyone. With that not being in favor, cards got overcharged and people paid more than expected. Watch out people, they will overcharge your card. Drag Show was awful as well. The place is so big, you can hardly see them after they pass you.
To steer less confusion if brunch and show are considered one ticket, get people to purchase in advance. Some ppl in my party thought you could order food individually and not participate in the brunch and not have to pay for the brunch. In that case, every server needs to remind people of that because it’s not written anywhere on Resy. They only mention cancellation policy. The manager insisted he “verbally” told me. I wasn’t told anything verbally. I never discussed anything on the phone with nobody. How can I if I booked online? So he lied about this made up contract they had in place. The server told us only at end that brunch and show were together and whether u ate or not you were still getting charged. That’s something you tell guest at the beginning. The principle is the communication on the restaurant part. Do better and stop charging people card in the...
Read moreI came here for the first time to play Sunday night trivia. My friend and I got there 30 minutes before trivia started and put our name in before heading to the bar. The hostess said that it would be 30-45 minute wait for a table and that she would text us when it was ready. The bar staff was inattentive and it took them 10-15 minutes before they asked what we wanted to drink.
When it came time for trivia to start, we still hadn’t received a text from the hostess so we went to check on the status of our table. She then informed us that there would be no tables but that we were “welcome to stand around and eaves drop on trivia (yes, eaves drop).”
After about 30 minutes of standing around and playing, we noticed that there were several tables that were clear and unoccupied, so we asked again if we could take a seat. We didn’t receive much of a response, but about 15 minutes after that the hostess sat us.
A waiter never came around until we got back up and asked the hostess if she could find someone to serve us. A waiter then came only to inform us that they were out of the food we ordered. We made different selections but never saw the waiter again until he brought the bill. The food and drinks were good but the service was the worst I’ve...
