District Rico — Restaurant in Washington

This place is one that I have wanted to review since it's opening. The chicken is on another level. They have a special place in my heart. I rank District Rico in my top 5 in the two spot. Today I had the Lomo Saltado and was met with flavor unlike any other place I have been to. Very tender meat, fresh veggies and they even took my special request of no rice and gave me yuca and platanos instead at no extra charge. The yuca is one of my favorite sides, along the always sweet platanos. The place is always clean and the staff is always friendly. The wait is very short even when they get busy. Let’s be honest: you don’t expect much from a one-off, fast-dining chicken restaurant located next to a Giant…but yall: this food is AWESOME. The fried plantains are as good as any I’ve had, the chicken is fresh cooked and even the white meat is juicy. And the prices! Absolutely reasonable, even in this inflated economy. I always get dark meat chicken with French fries and salad, the salad be fresh but today I wanted to try a different side,I got coleslaw I don’t even know why I got it because you can look and see through the window where it’s at it’s very soupy but I still decide to get it 🤷🏾‍♀️ And let me tell you they need to throw it in the trash, it made me sick and threw off my whole appetite while I was eating the rest of my food,if you go here and get a side I advise you please don’t get the coleslaw you will be disappointed and be mad about...
