My friends and I visited DC about two weeks ago and wanted a cheap place for lunch. We are all in college, so not wanting to break our wallets we stopped in for a quick bite from District Taco. The place was packed! We all got great food; I would personally recommend this place. It was about 7 bucks for a burrito bowl, then you get to load it up with salsa and sides at the burrito bar after they put the meat, rice and main parts in. Delicious; coming from somebody with celiac disease, (a nasty gluten allergy for those of you who aren't aware), I really love places like this that give Chick-Fil-A a run for their money and encourage healthy competition. The only thing that was sad was the broken fountain soda machine..haha still worth it. Oh, and if you can't handle spicy food (like me) the "mild" salsas are actually pretty kickin'. Beware!

Thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed it over all. -I'll start with the good. Food was ready fast. Tasted good. Loved the salsa the hot was actually hot👍 They gave us plenty of chips. Was easy to order. Price was affordable Guac was good -The not so good, but not bad. Fish on the fish taco was burnt but still tasted good. Staff seemed tired, like they didn't want be there. (I say this based off everywhere else we ate that had very friendly service) Wasn't the cleanest (it was the end of the night and most of the customers this night were slobs maybe that's not the norm) I gave it 4 stars would have given it 5 but it was lil messy and the service could have been better. Over all I would go back if I needed a quick bite. Keep in mind this is a small taco spot so you may not get seated. But they are fast.

Pretty average taco shop. It is fast casual, and I would say similar to Chipotle in a way. I tried a few different items: the build your own bowl with pollo asado, beans, rice, and vegetables, as well as the tacos with black beans, lettuce, and chicken. All of it was just average. Nothing impressive. I thought the portion for the bowl was very solid and filling. The chicken was decently fresh and well cooked. The vegetables were also pretty fresh. It didn’t have a ton of flavor, but not awful. The tacos were also just okay. It was kind of soggy, the lettuce added a bit of crunch to it. The chicken was once again, decent but not that flavorful. Nothing really special about these. All in all, it’s an okay spot for a quick meal, but not at all impressive. I won’t go back the next time I am in DC.

Let’s just start by saying - I’VE NEVER walked out of a restaurant not only feeling insulted that the MANAGER made it difficult to get CHICKEN for a bowl that I paid $10 for that only had rice, guacamole and cilantro! But they insisted that it was MY fault when their kiosk DOESN’T tell you by selecting a different protein that it would REMOVE the originally selected yet EVERY other option it simply ADDED to what you already selected. But then made it to be a 15 minute ordeal when we not only showed the clerk at the front exactly what happened, but then the manager insisted that we were simply WRONG and should know how their system works.

Rather than INSULTING a first time customer who would gladly return and bring additional revenue, I’m now a customer who not only will NEVER return to this location. I’ve been slapped in the face by this store manager, I WILL NEVER return to another one of this brand multiple locations again.

It’s basically an over priced chipotle and you are told as the customer coming in for the first visit we don’t NEED your business. Keep treating your customers like this and you’ll loose plenty more first time customers.

NOTE: as a business owner, I bend over backwards to offer a solution to resolve an issue to retain customers for repeat business. This manager doesn’t deserve the title if he doesn’t care enough to treat customers with respect and dignity.

I’ll also add - that the owner only have a refund after the being told that he wasn’t going to get more money out of me for their system being confusing and I told him I wanted a refund for the product I handed back to him and would refused to consume as it was NOT...

The food? AMAZING! I love that they don't upcharge for every little thing. Generous with toppings and don't charge extra for things like sour cream and guac. You'll have to place your own order on their kiosks, which takes a little longer but it means you don't have to wait in line (there are about 5). Food is prepared very quickly and is delicious!

Hope you don't have to go to the bathroom while you're there, though. Two employees were in line to use the restroom and one went in just as I arrived. She was in there 15+ minutes (likely playing on her phone). The other employee gave up waiting after about 7 minutes and saw the line building up. After 15 minutes, the employee in the bathroom peeked out the door to find a line of 6 people had accrued and she looked surprised. Re-locked the door and went back in. Came back out a few minutes later with a bottle of Windex like she was cleaning the bathroom, but when I went in she had sprayed the mirror and not even wiped it off. Bathroom was filthy with toilet paper and soap pump on the floor so she was definitely not actually cleaning that bathroom.

Other bathroom was locked when I arrived, and after about 10 minutes of not seeing anyone come out we started to wonder if it had accidentally gotten locked from the inside. A staff member knocked on the door and hollered to see if anyone was in there. Got no response but still...

Unfortunately the cleanliness was appalling for a place serving food. Sadly I didn’t notice how bad it was until I had already paid and had my food. The front area where you order and pay looked fine but things got worse after that. When we went to the pick up area to get the food I noticed a bad smell- like moldy mildew smell. From there we went upstairs to eat and the only table available was dirty. Clearly it had not been wiped down in a while and the bench where we had to sit had bags and napkins STUCK to it. I tried to move them and saw they were stuck on. Then we went to the bathroom and this is the scariest part. Neither of the two bathrooms had any soap! NO SOAP! I was horrified to realize that the people making the food had no way to wash their hands after using the bathroom. And one of the employees had just finished using the bathroom before I went in. I was so disgusted to realize that my (and my family’s food) had likely been prepared by dirty hands! I see another review from three months ago also has an issue with the cleanliness of the bathrooms so this is evidently not an isolated incident. So sad. I cannot believe a food establishment could have such a lack of concern for...
