Recently I had the good fortune to enjoy a fresh-made Falafel wrap from Hilana Falafel at Broad Branch Market in Chevy Chase DC. They are there from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Mondays. I took it home fully intending to eat half for dinner and save half for lunch the next day. Once I got home and bit into the Falafel, it was so delicious that I couldn't put it down...I ate the whole thing!
If you've never tried Falafel, now is the time and Hilana Falafel is the "place". If you love Falafel, you will not be disappointed! To make a good deal even better, 10% of all proceeds benefit the local public elementary school, Lafayette.
Hilana Falafel also sets up at the Mt. Pleasant Farmer's Market on Saturdays from 9-1 and (I think) at Mosaic on Sundays from 9-2.

I've lived in DC for 3+ years and have been searching for a good falafel, but have not liked any. They are all one note; flat with no tanginess or crunch

I never miss it Saturdays at Mount Pleasant Market. A must. And, when I’ll be away the next weekend or two, I stock up. And bring them to friends. Ask to skip the tahini and they’ll nearly keep forever. Cut in half, capped with press and seal, and popped in a sandwich zip-lock. Refridg or not, they’re all veg. They are marvelous to have along for a traveling meal or to fill in a corner. I regularly bring them with me traveling, everywhere, or when I’m just doing errands. They are a perfect tag-a-long but super amazing when eaten...
