Catering watered down, but still good, Tex-Mex food to the tourist crowd that hits Chinatown, this place would be average at best. However, the prices for what they offer are absurd. I suppose it's how they afford to put each individual taco into its own cardboard "plato." The poor employees have had the "process" drilled into them too hard and work by rote. I ordered two carne asada tacos (using that exact language) and I intended to get them with nothing more than cilantro and onions, so when the employee at the first station asked me what I wanted as far as toppings and I said nothing, she also put no carne in the tortillas because the "process" dictates that the customer will order an option from the menu such as "burrito" or "taco" and only tell them what protein they want after the tortilla(s) are laid out to receive the fillings. Very odd. And don't forget that chips are sold separately if you order anything like queso. All-in-all, a poorly executed Chipotle knock off with an air of quality that simply doesn't exist in reality (and ironically, there is a Chipotle less than 100 feet away).

July 2025 update: I decided to give dos toros one more try. I did a chorizo taco and a chorizo quesadilla and a chicken taco. They focus on quantity here, not quality. The tacos and quesadilla were stuffed full. Unfortunately the chorizo tastes like seasoned ground beef, not chorizo. I also ordered spicy sauce and there was no heat and no sauce. They forgot it. The chicken was good, but I wouldn’t do chorizo again. It isn’t what you’re expecting. Original review: Got Dos Toros to go and it is very tasty. The food is a bit salty which works, but we specified no cilantro. Everything had cilantro on it. If there wasn’t cilantro then it would be a good taco. Four stars instead of three because the speed of the service and quality of a tortilla. They probably make an awesome burrito as the ingredients are oversized, I’d go with that instead of tacos if I eat there again.

Took my nieces and little nephew to the Chinatown DC location today. It’s located right on 7th St across from Clyde’s and the Capital Center Arena. We ordered two chicken buritto bowls. A side of guacamole and a large bag of chips. The bowls lacked seasoning, everything seemed under seasoned. They also did not have hot sauce bottles in the dining area. My nieces rated their bowls a 2.5 to 3 out of 5 and stated Chipotle is much better, like a 4.5 out of 5. The food tasted fresh which was nice and the chips and guacamole were pretty good (could have each used a pinch of salt). There was nothing that wowed us about the food. We will not be returning. Lastly the prices were similar to Chipotle and there happened to be a Chipotle 3 ish doors down and a Chic A Fila right next door (it was closed due today being a Sunday).

Dos Toros Taqueria is a standout spot for delicious and authentic Mexican food! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring you have a fantastic dining experience from start to finish.

The menu at Dos Toros Taqueria is packed with mouthwatering options. Whether you’re in the mood for a burrito, taco, or bowl, every item is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors are bold and authentic, capturing the essence of traditional Mexican cuisine.

The burritos are a particular highlight – generously filled and perfectly balanced with a mix of savory meats, beans, rice, and fresh veggies. The tacos are equally impressive, with soft, flavorful tortillas and a variety of delicious fillings to choose from. Each dish is customizable, allowing you to tailor it to your taste preferences.

One of the standout features of Dos Toros Taqueria is their commitment to freshness and quality. You can taste the difference in every bite, from the perfectly seasoned meats to the crisp, fresh vegetables. The guacamole is a must-try – creamy, flavorful, and made fresh daily.

The ambiance is casual and inviting, making it a great spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and the overall vibe is lively and fun.

In summary, Dos Toros Taqueria is a fantastic choice for anyone craving delicious, authentic Mexican food. The combination of fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes, and friendly service makes it a top-notch dining destination. Highly...

Did I love the food, no. Did I love the service YES! YES! A million times YES! Good service in DC is harder to find than a man in finance, 6'5, trust fund, blue eyes. I honestly haven’t enjoyed fast-casual Tex-Mex since I first stepped into Moe’s Southwestern Grill when it opened in Pittsburgh in 2008. I hate Chipotle. Can't decide if it's the CEO or the overwhelming hint of lime... on everything.

Essentially, I was hungry, it was cold, and I had never tried it, so I rolled the dice. The best thing about the food was the hot sauce—very flavorful and spicy. Coming from California, paying more than ten dollars for half a bowl of rice and beans is not it, but I wasn’t too disappointed with the food for a first experience.

What really impressed me was the service. The older Black gentleman who took my order was cheery and kind, which is a grand departure from most service industry workers in DC. He was patient, friendly, and seemed to be in a good mood. He wasn’t just nice to me—he was nice to everyone. To top it all off, they were playing the hits. Nothing but the hits. Nothing but the motha funkin’ hits. And you know I enjoyed a little Beyoncé with my pico.

I left with an original quote in my mind (feeling inspired): If you want to work just for the money, enjoy your job. The minute you let your job affect your mood, you’re never going to feel like you’re paid enough.

Overall, I’d recommend everyone experience good service in DC, because I know it’s few and far between. As for the food, well… no real comment on that. It...

At precisely 6:38 PM on December 29, 2024, I walked into this location, utterly disappointed. Earlier that day, I had ordered from here twice—both times, my order was made incorrectly. While I typically frequent another Dos Toros location that I love and trust, I decided to give this one a try. That, unfortunately, turned out to be a mistake.

After spending additional money on Uber to retrieve my meals, I arrived to find the staff dismissive and inattentive. The employee I spoke with initially offered to correct only one of the mistakes, seemingly unaware of the glaring errors in both orders. It wasn’t until I pointed it out myself that he acknowledged the second issue—a protein I never even requested.

Yes, my meals were eventually remade, but the fact that the system allows me to customize my order and leave notes, only for those instructions to be ignored twice in a single day, is mind-boggling. It demonstrates a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for the customer’s experience.

While Dos Toros as a whole has always been a favorite of mine, this particular location has completely lost my trust. I will continue to patronize the other location I know and love, but I will never return here. The staff’s negligence and the overall lack of care are why this rating is as...
