There was no wait. I was pretty empty around 2 PM today.(a Saturday.) we were seated quickly. We were even given our waters quickly however, after that, it took 20 minutes before anybody came over and that was just a refill, our waters and we were told the person who refilled our water wasn’t even our server. We inquired about the brunch special (which by the way was on IG and it was about a year ago so that could’ve been on me, but the other Google reviews still swore that this place was amazing)… the way they explained it that the options and such had changed it could’ve been due to the lack of staff to be honest since our server was also the bartender. She explained in order to do the $59 bottomless drinks option everybody at your table but also have to select that exact same option that option meant on the brunch special. There’s a list of drinks that could be bottomless and it’s only for two hours, but to do the brunch special you also had to choose Two appetizers one entrée and one dessert that is for one person the food is not bottomless just the drink option it’s two hours from when they put in your order. We opted to go with the normal menu because it wasn’t a lot of food options and that seems kind of pushy to force everyone at the table to have to do the exact same brunch special just because one person wanted it. It took another 20 to 30 minutes before we got our first alcoholic beverage. The drinks themselves were good so I’ll give them that after that. It took about 20 minutes to get our food but while we waited, it took forever just to get refills on water and when the food came out, unfortunately it was not that good. The only thing that had flavor was the black beans that I got with my soft chicken tacos. The chicken tacos had no flavor no seasoning and unfortunately were quite dry I needed the sauce from the black beans just to make them swallow bowl because after finishing my first drink And my water I was unable to get a refill on the water let alone request a second alcoholic beverage. Not sure if the lack of staff was the main reason for changing their brunch special that was promoted on Instagram but overall, I cannot give this a great rating compared to...

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! First off let me start by saying this was such a bad experience for me and my family we hope to not go through this again. We came here to have a good time and we heard about this place from an Instagram video. But things were definitely not like that Instagram video. My family got the bottomless brunch which is $45 per person and I decided to get a regular burrito off the normal menu. I am pregnant and I don’t eat a lot of things. The alcohol beverages came out first which took some time and the food did not get to the table till 45 minutes after we ordered and it would come out with one dish and take another 15 for the other. All I ordered was a burrito and that didn’t come out for an hour. Once I mentioned it again the gentleman taking our order looked at me confused and then said they will make it right away. But that still meant another 30 minutes. Our server from the beginning didn’t seem to care about our table and was gone most of the time. The restaurant wasn’t busy but yet they said they were very busy so food and drinks would be out late. There is only a 2 hour limit for the bottomless brunch from when we sit down. We felt as though we were being scammed of our money because no food was coming out and the food that did was not of good quality, each time they came out with another plate it was missing food or the portions were getting smaller. It was just very bad. Once I finally got my burrito the server placed it in front of me and never said that the plate was hot. I got burned twice, it was way way too hot. I used to be a server and I can grab hot plates but this plate literally burned my hand. The whole mood was off and we didn’t really feel welcomed there, we were ready to leave and asked for the check and once I took a look at it they charged us $100 extra on our bill. And once we asked the server why we got charged for extra dishes when those fall under the bottomless brunch for $45 he gave attitude and said he is going to get the manager. The manager had a good attitude at least and was able to adjust the bill but it really seemed like they are just trying to...

Top line: very late food and couldn’t walk out.

I went to El Tamarindo 5/12 for DC Veg Week at 8 pm for their special jackfruit birria tacos. We got seated immediately outside without reservations (under the tent, whole table for 2 people on Friday). We were told to order with the QR code on the table, we ordered and got a receipt at 8:13 pm (additionally tip was auto set at 22%, I switched to 20% but when it was finally processed I saw it at 22%. Fine but funny and worse after what I’ll mention next). The kitchen was so backed up. We didn’t get our food for an hour and twenty minutes. The staff were very kind when we asked for updates (response ‘we’ll check, kitchen’s behind, be out soon’) but there was no warning that the kitchen was behind when we were sat. The other tables we realized had not gotten food yet and were there before us (about 5 tables worth). * My biggest gripe is that we were very hungry and had no timing of when the food would come out. And since we did the QR method, there was no easy way to leave without the food. The webpage did not have an obvious way to cancel or refund our order. * We also had to ask for more water besides the 8oz restaurant themed water cups since their kitchen didn’t have enough staff/space to wash the table water carafes. The hard part was we got 1 appetizer, and two entrees but they came out at all different times. We paid separately but submitted the order within minutes of each there and for the same table number. Overall a D- experience for the hype of...

Complimentary chips and salsa: the chips are pretty good in taste and texture. However, the salsa lacked strength and a lot of flavor because it had too much water in it. In fact, make sure you have a napkin close by or ask for a small plate (in case they don't put one on your table) while eating these chips. The service: the night I went to Tamarindo was a very busy night. However, the waiters managed to serve everyone the best they could. We waited around 15min to get our food, and about 25 to get the piña colada we ordered - what I was told was that the bartender was new :S. Pupusas: we ordered two pupusas: the chicken&cheese and the revuelta (pork&cheese). First, I must say that we came to this place with very high expectations as many latinamerican friends recommended the place. Indeed, the pupusas exceded our expectations: the pupusas were very flavorful, not too greasy, the texture was soft just like a traditional pupusa, the cheese inside was melted, and the curtido (a chili and vinegar cabbage slaw) gave that crunch and sour flavor to every bite - for those new to the pupusa world, always make sure to put some curtido on the pupusa in order to have the complete experience - the chirimol is also ideal.

I was excited to try El Tamarindo given their extensive menu and affordable combo meals. Taco Tuesday offers great deals on tacos and carafes. The tacos are dressed with lettuce, pico, sour cream, and shredded cheese— not my preferred style, but the wide variety of protein options makes up for it. I started with a frozen lime margarita, which had a solid kick, balanced fruit flavor, and wasn’t overly sweet. The mango version was sweeter—great for those who prefer it that way. We also ordered the guacamole dip, which was supposed to feature corn and chile, but the standout flavor was the queso fresco, which seemed mixed in, giving it a thick, rich texture. For mains, I tried the beef empanadas and two pupusas (pork & cheese, and chicken & cheese). The pupusas were satisfying, though I prefer a bit more char for texture. The beef empanadas were the highlight—crispy shell, flavorful moist beef with finely chopped potatoes and carrots, paired with a creamy green sauce that brought it all together beautifully. I’d highly recommend them. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of their specialty dishes for a deeper taste of El Salvador.
