BEEEEEEEEEWARE!!!! When you walk in go to the bathroom FIRST BEFORE you eat the food! I would just order the CHILAQUILES and the Bottomless Mimosas if you can brave the bathroom and dirty cups! EEK!
SEATING SHUFFLE A group of nine of us gathered on a Sunday to celebrate a friend's birthday. We made a reservation and promptly arrived on time. We announced our name to host and manager, Jonathan, who was also standing there. He seemed confused but after a brief conversation with the hostess, took us upstairs. There was no table upstairs to accommodate us so they started to seat up in a dark area which looked dusty and dirty. I think the manager saw the dissatisfaction on our faces and told us to wait a minute. The bartender upstairs tried to reassure us stating, "Just give us a minute, we'll get you a table set up, up here and we'll have some fun". Nice sentiment.
UNTRAINED WAITER The manager reappeared and took up back downstairs, where they proceeded to move some other patrons to make room for us. We were seated and Will tried with a soft spoken voice in a loud restaurant to explain the concept their bottomless Bruncharia. Check their website for details Main point is that everyone at the table has to go bottomless.
SPOTTY CUPS We ordered Mimosas and White Sangria which were decent quality although the pitchers and the cups need a better dishwasher! We asked for disposable cups.
FOOD DELAY Upon asking SEVERAL times they finally brought us food completely out of order and it took soooooo long. Further, other tables who were seated after us were getting things that we ordered. I don't know if Will wasn't putting in the orders or what was happening. When Savannah and Jonathan got involved food magically appeared.
THE DISGUSTING BATHROOMS While eating a women from upstairs ripped the manager politely about the condition of the bathroom, stating that "it smelled and looked like the condition of the worst NYC back alley". I AGREE! If I had see the bathrooms before we ate I would not have eaten there. Sadly, no one told me where the bathrooms were, I just headed toward the back of the restaurant and began to smell urine. SERIOUSLY! It is ridiculous that you can SMELL where the bathroom is. See attached pictures! Thank God the photos are scratch and smell. GOD BLESS.
FOOD If you have a strong stomach and are willing to brave, the cleanliness of this place and the wait, I have to say that some of the food was good. However, it is troublesome that the cups, pitchers, bathroom display that their staff doesn't know how to clean. The chicken and waffles were okay, the chicken without the waffles would be perfect as the waffle was soggy. The Churros were overdone. The CHILAQUILES were VERY GOOD! Glad I consumed before I went to the bathroom, while going to the bathroom nearly made me ill.
SERVICE left much to be desired, minus Savannah Savannah was AMAZING! She stepped in when our server Will neglected us and seemed simply overwhelmed. Savannah always came through with our requests and was prompt to make sure we had what we requested. While Will made promises, Savannah EXECUTED! Promote HER!
Beware. Proceed with caution. Sadly, some of the recipes seem on point but the management of the restaurant needs some SERIOUS attention.

Read moreWe still outside y'all and celebrating our daughter's graduation. She wanted to go to this place today for Mother's Day and our final day of being in the city to celebrate her college graduation.
Chris greeted us at the door and was very welcoming. We decided to sit outside and he was all too happy to oblige. Andre came outside to assist as well and was equally pleasant and attentive. They both made sure we had everything we needed.
We were famished and ordered Guacomole and Queso with chips for starters. My daughter and I (twinsies) also ordered Margaritas on the rocks with Tahine on the rim. It was too lit!
For the entree my husband ordered a variety of their tacos, my son ordered Nachos Libre and my daughter and I ordered the Fajita Rice Bowl with a mix of Governator Shrimp and Blackened Shrimp 🔥.
My husband's plate looked delectable with the variety of tacos he ordered. My son's plate of nachos looked so clean and so good I was about ready to grab the plate and run up the street eating it. My daughter and my rice bowl was so delicious it was ridiculous. I told them they need to put my daughter and my variation of the Fajita Rice Bowl on the menu and name it the A-Team Travels Bowl.
Our appetizers were delicious as well. The Guacomole was so good we ordered another bowl and I KNOW good Guacomole because I myself make some delicious Guacomole. The Queso was very flavorful and just the right consistency. The chips were the perfect accompaniment to it all.
After speaking to the manager Ethan we found out they were offering a Mother's Day special of 50% off of their meal and you can rent space to throw an event with no rental fee you just pay for food and drinks. You can book online to reserve the space.
The restaurant is located in a really cool and eclectic part of town where you're sure to have a great time. The inside is full of charm and features a full bar and various levels of seating options.
Needless to say the food was delicious, the staff was great and the restaurant and outdoor seating options were fun. We had a great time and it was just what was needed before we headed back home and left our baby girl in DC. Check them out and don't forget to order the "A-Team Travels" Bowl. It's EVERYTHING!!! Enjoy and...
Read moreJohnny Pistolas is a wonderful bar and restaurant in Adams Morgan in DC. The drinks there were phenomenal! I will say that it took a while for the waitress to come and take our initial orders and it took way too long to bring our drinks and food. I will address the food first as it was not good. The guacamole was bland, even for avocados. It seemed like it was lacking everything I love about guacamole, except for the avocados. It also took forever for the guacamole to come out to our table. Sent it back, moving on. Our first round of drinks was a matching set of a mezcal drink in a cocktail glass, called Naked and Famous, and a margarita in a rocks glass, which was a jalapeno infused blood orange margarita. They were both orange-y drinks, but their flavor was amazing. I do have a particular affinity towards blood oranges, so this drink suited my desires perfectly. The second round were a red drink called an Old Oaxacan (Wa-hoc-an) and a lighter, albeit boozier drink called a Paloma. The drinks were delicious and we definitely enjoyed ourselves at Adams Morgan Day with this as one of our stops. The management was kind enough to take back our guacamole and remove it from our check after hearing our complaint, so because the drinks were delicious and refreshing, and because the management was apt in handling our complaint and had a good attitude, I am giving this place 4 stars. A little more timeliness from the wait staff and kitchen and Johnny Pistolas would certainly achieve a 5-star rating from me. Either way, get over there and make your own determination....
