Today at 4:54 am I entered the usps located at 2300 18th St NW Lbby, Washington, DC 20009, I carried with me a box where some gifts sent, vitamins and a machine to measure the level of sugar in the blood to my parents who live In Peru, which are isolated and in very delicate health, in Peru the quarantine has been very strict, that is why I had not been able to send anything until now, a window was opened and I felt that I had to take advantage of it. The lady who works in the post office did not want to attend to me, she claimed that as it was an international shipment, it would take her a long time, she asked me to leave the place in a very bad way, despite the fact that the people who were still inside tried to persuade her Together with me, we told her that she had a duty to attend to all of us who had arrived there before 5 o'clock, which is closing time, she said she had a lot of work to do and flatly refused to attend to me. What this lady doesn’t understand is that we all work and it was her duty to attend to me, nobody was asking her for a favor, I had to arrive earlier this morning at my work to be able to leave earlier and arrive at the post office on time and so I did, however she didn’t want to attend to me, I felt very frustrated. And I write this that appropriate measures be taken because customers should not be treated in this way. If the postal service closes the doors at 5pm, it is only fair that they serve the people who are inside the premises from before 5pm. This weekend is a holiday and most of us are hard-working people who make great efforts to be able to get to the post offices on time since they are only open during the hours in which most people are working, they should also improve their customer service, it is...
Read moreAnother review confirming the rudeness and unhelpfulness of the staff here. And forget about going in the morning—this location never opens on time at 9 am. I’ve been 3 times in the past 2 weeks between 9-10 am, and each time they were closed with no employees in sight.
Yesterday I went at 10:30 am and found a closed post office and a line of several people waiting, including an employee (who apparently doesn’t have a key). Finally, the supervisor casually strolled up to unlock the door, and when I pointed out they were supposed to open at 9, I received only attitude but neither an explanation nor an apology. Then we all had to wait while they got the computers up and running.
Not to mention the rudeness and lack of customer service skills of the employees here. When they are not chatting loudly with one another and ignoring the line of customers, they are somewhere in the back doing who knows what while customers wait in line to be helped. For example, the other day when I visited this location, two female employees were loudly discussing their respective strategies for their online dating profiles while I stood waiting. When I finally managed to get their attention, they were visibly annoyed to be interrupted to actually do their jobs.
Everyone who works here should be fired. Please save yourself a trip and wait until the afternoon to go, if you decide to visit this...
Read moreToday I was the subject of discrimination at this location. I had parked far and when I got to the door, I realized my mask wasn’t on me and it was about to pour down raining so I went ahead in. The sign on the door said masks were recommended. I’m vaccinated so I thought I was okay. When I got to the counter, the man rudely and aggressively said to me “how can I help you but where is your mask”. I said the sign says recommended and that I’m vaccinated. He said the requirements are different than what the sign says. The other post office worker next to him laughs.
I went back to my car in the rain and when I went back, the man in front of me didn’t have a mask but the same man said nothing. When I pointed this out to him why he didn’t ask this man in front of me about a mask but he had asked me, he started arguing with me and the girl next to him did the same. It’s not about a mask, it’s about you talk and treat people. The man in front of me in line was Latin, I am Asian. I feel like I was targeted for this, especially with all that is going on in the world. Simply put, I will never step foot...
