Ambiance was hotel generic.
I think I should have moved on and not ordered after receiving brown lemon and lime wedges with my sparkling water. And not brown on the skin. I am talking brown on the inside.
Food was extremely overpriced for the quality. Extremely! Chicken Caesar was dry and chewy. For a $22 salad it should have wowed me….but no. Hamburger was overcooked and greasy. Can you believe we ate it all because the final price along with two drinks and bread came to almost $110? That’s too high a price for me to just leave behind.
I used OpenTable to book a 1:30 reservation. Upon arrival I was informed the kitchen would be closing at 2:00pm. I am not sure why there would be a booking available at that time (there was a 1:45 as well) if your average order and eat process at a sit down restaurant usually takes longer than 30 min. With thoroughly rushing every step of the way through our lunch, we were out the door approximately 2:05pm. Of course that was easy with our two servers reminding us at regular intervals (about 7) that they were closing at 2pm. I understand everyone works hard in a restaurant and closing time is closing time….but is it a smart move to offer seating times that make dining impossible to complete by close? Perhaps they should try closing seating at 1:00pm or 1:15pm? I don’t know what a good solution is for them. But I do know that I had my first meal in my life where my presence felt unwanted for simply booking a time that was offered by the OpenTable app.
No mater where I have gone in DC, I have almost always felt I was getting for what I have payed. Be it ambiance, product, or service. This place...

Due to room preference - we stay at Park Hyatt across the street but their restaurant is too much of the fancy gourmet tasteless bullcrap - you know , the stuff people pretend to like - but really don't. Anyhow, yesterday we did breakfast at this place......just thrilled! The restaurant is peaceful and nice. Staff equally pleasant - and really pay attention to requests.
Pancakes Excellent in taste, served hot.
Fruit Fresh and cool as it should be.
Eggs Benedict OH MAMA this was good. Poached PERFECTLY. Ham flavorful. Hollandaise on point without some chef re-imagining and ruining it. The English muffin was HOT and CRISPY.....each bite was heavenly - I ate slow because I didn't wanna finish it fast. Yeah, I had foreplay with my Eggs Benedict I admit it.
Breakfast Potatoes HOT! CRISPY!!!!! No weird flavors on it.
Only one wish is the waitstaff means so well- just slow down a second. Let us sit down at least, before asking about drinks and coffee but overall they were splendid.
When we are in DC - this is my ONLY breakfast spot now. Damn I wish I ordered two...
Read moreIf you're looking for a place to satisfy your brunch cravings, then this joint is worth a visit. But listen, if you're not planning on indulging in their bottomless mimosas, you're missing out on life. You better come thirsty and ready to guzzle down at least three of those babies. Note: the price is per person not for the whole table (whoops)
Now, let's talk about the food. The omelette and crab Benedict are the real stars of the show here. They were so delicious, I nearly shed a tear of joy. However, don't bother bringing any outside food or drinks because they are not having it. My friend's Starbucks got snatched up as soon as we sat down. I guess they're strict about that kind of thing.
But let's not forget about the coffee. Unfortunately, it was subpar and didn't quite hit the spot, left me longing for my Starbucks. But hey, we're not there for the coffee, are we?
Overall, I give Juniper 4 out of 5 stars. The food is the real deal, and the mimosas are worth the trip alone. So, grab your brunch squad and head on over. Just leave the Starbucks...
