Nick's Riverside Grill — Restaurant in Washington

SUPER RACIST MANAGER. Let me start by saying I never write reviews good or bad but what occurred here will not be brushed away or overlooked and it was the worst and most unbelievable experience I ever had in a restaurant/business my entire life. Also upon reading past reviews this manager seems like a horrible person in general. His name is Ricky and if you type in his name or "manager" you will see how badly he treats people in general. So to start, my friends and I visited here Friday night. When we arrived, me and my friend went to the restroom as my other friend set at the bar, when we came back out to the bar after ordering drinks we where RUDELY approached by Nick's security guards. They falsely and wrongly accused us of being in the restroom with a male! which is BS! and was totally degrading to me and my friend as women. The security guard stated that the manager made this complaint (Ricky)and we will have to leave because he didn't want us there. They continued to harass us as we argued against this bogus lie. We told and begged them to please look at the cameras and which they will see that this is a total lie made up by the manager! They refused to replay the camera, so did the manager. (All on video). He repeated that we should just leave, yelled out racist words, and had the police come to try and arrest us. As i was recording the incident take place Nick's security guards also physically touched me and tried to knock my phone out my hand. (which is also recorded). I believe the only reason the manager came up with this lie was because of our Race and wanted us out of the restaurant. I feel totally degraded, and will not let this matter slip under the rug and become overlooked. I will be getting an attorney involved to get justice for this matter. If i could give this place zero stars I will. RACISM IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I'm totally hurt that this happened because we just came to this restaurant to eat, drink, and enjoy our Friday night like everyone else but instead we received hate and embarrassment. I posted pictures of the racist manager that kicked us out the restaurant by making up a very horrible lie. I will love to post the videos that I have so everyone can see how badly we were treated and degraded but I cant do so yet because I'm contacting my attorney first. Please do not support this business. RICKY is racist, and from other reviews hes rude and treats customers...

The service was bad the waiter never ask us if we need anything or if we needed refills on our drinks. It was me my wife and daughter we had 2 menu and a child menu my wife order a cheese burger for our daughter and when the food was delivered we ask if the cheese burger was the one from the kids menu the waiter at first said yes then came back and said no it was from the normal menu. The waiter who deliver the food was not our waiter but he said we would be charged for the child cheese burger later our waiter came and said that he would order the kids cheese burger now this is all after our child had taken a few bits of the other cheese burger. but the waiter had done left so i got up and was looking and their was a lady standing near the bar i was thinking maybe she was the manger but she saw me looking for someone and never came and ask me if i needed anything. After a few min our waiter show back up and i told him what is the point in order a child cheese burger at this point again i ask if we get that will we be charged for it and the other cheese burger and he said no he did order another one that she could just have that one at the price of the one on the child menu. after some time and me having to asking him to refill my drink he return with and inform me that we had to pay the full price for the cheese burger per his manager. Now the manager show up at the table and it was the lady that was standing by the bar when i was looking for my waiter earlier and never ask me if i needed any help. When she came to the our table in front of my family and other guess she told me we had to pay the full price i explain to her what happen and she said who told you that because she would take it out of their pay. I told he no i will just pay for it she started a altercation with me at the table telling me no and i told he she could have the left over food and the $ 5.00 more that the cheese burger cost i didn't want her staff to pay for it after going back and forth she took my card and charged me the full price lay it on the table for me to sign and walk away. In all my time i have never ran in to a manger like this. I live in the Washington DC area and i will tell everyone i meet about this and i will never go to that place to eat again. the total bill was $ 79.00 do you think i would make a deal over $ 5.00 unless i was...

After a fun evening celebrating my husband's birthday, our family and friends of 15 decided to have dinner at what seemed like a nice, friendly place. Nick's Riverside Grill. Boy were we wrong. After patiently waiting for over 30 minutes for a table big enough to accommodate our party, we sat down and continued patiently waiting....now for service. After nearly 20 minutes of sitting at the table, without being greeted by a server, we realized that maybe there was something wrong. Wrong is an understatement. An hour had passed until finally a busboy walked over and informed us that we were not going to be served. All of us. 15 people were not going to be served without an explanation from a manager. In efforts to salvage my husband's birthday celebration, I searched for a manager to perhaps clear up any confusion. After attempting to have questions answered by the manager, I realized why he sent the busboy to deliver the news instead of himself. Because there was no explanation. This establishment simply just didn't want our business. Our party of 15 consisted of at least half with industry experience. If there were a situation preventing the restaurant from serving us, shouldn't a manager get involved? We were shocked to realize that there were two managers on duty and neither of them thought it important or professional to approach us directly. Feeling humiliated, I escorted my family and friends out of the restaurant without any sound reason why. While we were walking out, we were shocked to learn that the owner himself was present at the time of our arrival and departure. He was in the kitchen handling food with flip flops, which is a major health code violation. Luckily the health inspector is a personal friend of ours, who we will gladly report this violation to. Overall, our experience was lack there of. I hope that large parties and minorities approach this establishment with caution, especially since their own bus boy told us "look around, the only black people here are in the back, working."

Additionally, when I mentioned to the manager that I would be yelping my experience, he said "don't threaten me with reviews." Reviews shouldn't be threats unless you're doing something wrong. So here is your review Manager...
