Simply put, the bread pudding is amazing! I was planning my partner's b-day and finding great traditional bread pudding has been a problem the last couple of years here in DC, especially a bulk amount for a party. Other places like Pluma (also in the Untion Market area) have a fantastic version of bread pudding but (at least by US standards) is not what is expected. Imagine craving a slice of NY style pepperoni pizza but getting a waify slice with arugula and goat cheese from Wolfgang Puck. It's fancy and executed well but that's not what most of us are looking for. Anyway... I went in to try it out and was impressed. Went up to talk to a very friendly & helpful employee who explained I can order small, medium, large or a full pan either in person or online in advance for delivery. I was assured they always have stock so coming in day of to pick up a full pan should never be an issue. Plus, buying a pan allows you the option of getting it unheated with the sauce on the side so you can prepare closer to serving time. I took that option, stored in the fridge, heated at 350 for 25 min and added the sauce. Everyone was in love with it! I recommend having it with some vanilla ice cream (which they can sell you as well).

We had extra and even froze some. Single servings re-heat perfectly in an air fryer at 350 for 5 min. The frozen portions we switched from the freezer to the fridge for a few hours before reheating then reheated at 350 for 10 min. Still hits!

Only reason I didn't give them a 5 for atmosphere is because they are in a food hall, not their own brick & mortar. Union Market is dope though and has a classic look and a lot of energy, especially on the weekend. Can't wait to try the cajun...

The weather is changing and since my fantastic trip to Louisiana earlier this year. I was craving some gumbo. Searched google all night and came across this establishment. Nested in Union market. I was welcomed by the sweetest woman who took my order. I told her I’d be back for the bread pudding. We chatted briefly about how busy it was and that I came at a great time. I had to stroll around for a seat because it was very busy!

Anyway! I sat, and dove right in! I also got the ice tea. So honestly.. I wasn’t too much of a fan. I thought it would have more broth and the flavor just felt like a lot was going on. It did have some kick to it so i definitely guzzled that ice tea. However, I really couldn’t taste the flavor of the ice tea and not sure if it was due to extreme seasoning from the gunmbo
or coming down with a coldđŸ€”â€Š

So as promised I came back for the bread pudding. the same welcoming worker let me same before purchasing and I was sold. And slapped some vanilla ice cream on topđŸ„čđŸ«¶đŸŸ it was GOODT!

The woman who took care of me asked my opinion and I was honest, she then told me her favs on the menu and I mentioned I’d be back for the red beans and rice.

Overall it was a great experience. The gumbo wasn’t a hit for me. But the bread pudding was😆. All portions were plentiful as well. I’ll be back to try out other items on their menu. It was just also great just getting fantastic service!

Keep up the...

Placed an order thru UberEats for pick up. Got there to pick up amd was ignored by the lady standing directly in front of me. She helped the guy after me. I had to walk around to the cashier and ask. My order wasnt ready. The same lady with an attitude tells me that when you order ubereats or Doordash they dont make it until you get there (defeats the purpose of ordering online) She offered no apology or nothing. She pulled her phone out of her pocket (no gloves) and began texting. She could tell I wasn't too happy and NOTHING but me watching her bare backside because she turned her back to me . She bagged my food..set it on the counter and walked off!! Never again!! I dont even want the food anymore!! My husband opened it and there are 4 shrimp on the entire sandwich. The bread was dry...you can see from the pic below the bread was crumbly ( dry,not fresh) I ordered fried shrimp for $2. I assumed (my fault) that it was a side of baby gulf shrimp...but no I received a small container with one shrimp. I was confused..why is there not an option under customization to ADD SHRIMP, and why was...

Puddin’: Dessert So Good It Should Come With a Warning Label This isn’t bread pudding. This is a religious experience disguised as dessert. One bite and suddenly I was speaking fluent Cajun, blessing strangers on the street, and googling “how to legally marry brown sugar.” The bourbon sauce didn’t just coat the pudding—it baptized me. Butter? Forget “food group,” at Puddin’ it’s basically the mayor. Texture report: velvety, luscious, and toe-curling. Rich enough to make you question capitalism, but somehow light enough that I convinced myself calories don’t count if you eat it standing up. The staff? Warm, welcoming, and absolutely unfazed when I started crying into my spoon. Portions? Generous enough to feed your whole family
but good luck sharing. I tried once and nearly lost a relative. By the time I finished, I wasn’t just full—I was spiritually reborn. Honestly, NASA should investigate, because this might be the best pudding in the known universe. Final verdict: Cancel your dinner plans. Cancel your therapist. Just eat this pudding and achieve enlightenment.
