The place is cool enough, and their pastries looked good. But I ordered a cappuccino that tasted burnt and metallic. As a barista I know that it could mean the beans were over roasted or the coffee grounds were overpacked and thus scorched when they brewed it. So I told them, and I was told that it was because their coffee has a special composition and they use a double shot of espresso to which makes it stronger…. I said every cappuccino I’ve ever had had a double shot and that the ration of espresso to milk wasn’t the problem. But the guy insisted I was wrong and made me a new one with a single shot and more milk… and of course it just tasted like milk.

In fact, they looked at each other and rolled their eyes when I walked in. No greeting whatsoever. Both were cold and unwelcoming. I approached both of them and had to educate them on customer service—namely, you greet customers when they walk through the doors, not express a cold demeanor. It’s an incredible shop, offering natural light, comfy seating, Colombian treats, and balanced coffee.
