Hmmm… there were a couple good things about this place, but not many. And the good things were the standard of what should be done at a restaurant.
The girl we had as our waitress took a very long time to get to us for anything. They were busy at first so we understood. We didn’t see her or get any waters brought to us for over ten minutes after being seated. I ordered a Moscow mule that ended up being 18.25 for the worst mule I’ve ever had in my life. It was watered down, the ice melted within only a few minutes. I honestly think they brought me an old one that had been sitting out or something because it was flat, no ginger flavor, no lime flavor, nothing. And yet still tasted like there was no alcohol in it. My boyfriend ordered an IPA along with our other table members but the girl came back and said they had a blowout and she could only get one IPA. So the other people at the table choose something else.
The food didn’t take as long to come out as everything else did, and the salad was really delicious. But for the price I have to say the rest of the meal was awful. If it was 10.00 cheaper for each item, it would have been more understandable, but the steak we ordered medium was almost well done and very rubbery/bland. The wings were ok, but pretty fatty and dried out, and the sauce it came with was not very good. Even my boyfriend didn’t like anything and he eats pretty much everything. Then it took around 30-40 minutes to get our check and that was after half the place had cleared out for the night and they weren’t as busy.
The worst part that is making me take the time to write this complaint is that we had a party of five, and they charged us a 20% “large party” gratuity without saying anything, we almost left an extra tip on top of that without knowing. Usually in my experience, a large party is 8 or more. So that was a bummer having to pay 20% gratuity for really bad service and mediocre food.
I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I’ll...
Read moreSunday Brunch I didn't realize Stan's has Brunch. I have been to Stan's plenty times (dinner) and they are known for their fried wings and heavy pours (if you're a drinker) well, their Brunch isn't very popular and I can see why...
There is no bottomless mimosa option. This isn't a terrible thing since they are known for heavy pours but a personal (mini) bottle of la Marca for $14+ USD is asinine. I stuck with the usual golden margarita. - I don't know what happened this visit because it was disgusting. Tasted heavily based in OJ I struggled to get through it. In fact, I didn't finish it and ordered a tequila neat. The service was great since no one else was there. Literally there was only one person sitting at the bar and then us at the table. We arrived at noon. People started coming around 1:30 PM EST but it still wasn't as packed as I'm accustomed to Stan's being. We had space to spread out and that's never happened before. Music was playing- so the vibe was there.
Food: the food looks better than it tasted. I ordered an omelet and it was jam packed with veggies but still bland. I thought it could have been cheesier. My friend ordered waffles 🧇 (again they look amazing) but she said they were just "ok" and "look better in the picture" we split a half order of wings (again they were the best thing on the menu). I ordered a side of bacon 🥓 thinking it would be four pieces for $6 USD as stated on the menu but there were near seven pieces of bacon. This would have been great if they were delicious and crispy but they were chewy and just ok. I ended up only eating two pieces. They do have all day happy hour on Sundays, I imagine to draw people in but they will have to amplify their options and the taste to get me back there for brunch. It was quite...

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Stan's Restaurant and Lounge on Thursday, and it was an experience worth sharing. Located in Washington DC, this establishment promises good food and a welcoming atmosphere, and it certainly delivered.
To start, we ordered potato skins and ribs as appetizers. The potato skins were flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the ribs were tender and well-seasoned. Portion sizes were generous, setting a promising tone for the rest of the meal.
For the main course, we indulged in their cut fried chicken, and it lived up to its reputation. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it was a delight from the first bite to the last.
Yet, what truly elevated our evening was the exceptional service provided by Jackie, our waitress. Her laughter and attentiveness made us feel right at home. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also had a knack for creating a cheerful atmosphere. Jackie's friendly and fun demeanor enhanced our dining experience significantly.
And let's not forget the drinks – each cocktail is made with 4 oz of alcohol, and it was delicious. We ordered an Old Fashion and a Sidecar. Whether you prefer something classic or adventurous, the bartenders at Stan's know their craft well.
Overall, Stan's Restaurant and Lounge exceeded our expectations. From the delectable food to the outstanding service and delightful drinks, every aspect of our visit was memorable. It's a great place for a date night or a casual dinner with friends. My wife and I recommend Stan's to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in Washington DC. We'll...
