I forgot how much I love this place. We don't have one in augusta anymore so we drove to waterville to eat here. I love the salad bar. It's nothing fancy but the pasta is yummy and oddly enough my husband says you guys have the best croutons he ever had. You can get a dinner then just add on the salad bar for a small additional price for all you can eat salad bar or you can just buy the salad bar. Only thing I wish you had on it, is cottage cheese but I understand why you don't. It's probably expensive to buy in large quantity. We went on a sunday afternoon so it was very slow there but it was nice to eat in peace. They are very elegant looking, you walk in and see the silverware wrapped up on the table already unlike most places. They have plenty of tables for wheelchair accessibility and tons of booths, you can even sit at their full bar with tons of choices to drink. I believe they had two tvs in the bar. The food menu has a lot of choices but isn't overbearing. Parking is very spacious, free parking. Kids will love the food here, especially the dessert menu. For vegetarians they have plenty of choices especially the salad bar. Prices here are just like anywhere else just depends on what you want to eat. They accept debit/credit and cash.
Our waitress I think her name was Paige. Very sweet girl and very attentive. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. I was obsessed with the mango lemonade and she made sure I wasn't thirsty anymore! There's literally chunks of mango in the drink. So delicious and usually I don't like things with lemonade but this is my new favorite! The restaurant was slow so it was clean including the bathroom. I had the steak on the menu with a new sauce on top. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me but it's new because on the menu it said it was new. I also had loaded mash potatoes. The mash potatoes were awesome but I took the steak home but couldn't eat it. This is my only real negative part of the review. I wanted it well, it was very bloody. I couldn't eat it. I'm sorry, I'm sure had it been well done I would have loved it, it's my fault, I should have checked it before I left. My husband got the steak and ribs combo. He was very happy with it. We ended up getting dessert which was the best part of our meal besides my mango lemonade. I had a cheesecake sunday in a large cup, you had chunks of cheesecake all through it. Yum yum, definitely worth the price. My husband got a cookie with icecream and hot fudge, he liked it as well. Had my steak been well I would have rated a five star service. I then saw a table next to me that actually got tenders. I asked the server PLEASE MAKE SURE U COVER ALL MY CHICKEN WITH BUFFLO SAUCE AND PLEASE MAKE SURE MY FRIES ARE HOT. I GOT MY PLATE AND MY 15 FRIES I GOT WITH MY ORDER I PAID 3.99 WASN'T HOT AT ALL JUST WARM AT THE MOST AND MY CHICKEN HAD A SCOOP OF HOT SAUCE ON EACH PIECE OF CHICKEN THAT DIDN'T EVEN COVER THE TOP FULLY AND NO SAUCE ON THE BOTTOM. I called the server over to ask for HOT fries and if they could toss my chicken in sauce and she it was but clearly wasn't. She took my plate back came back out with a plate of hot fries a normal order this time and my chicken at this point came out correct. I had my daughter home from college with me and didn't want to complain to why she told me fries didn't come with my chicken and I see the table next to me get actual tenders as I tried to order. I fell I was told no and wasn't made aware that tenders came with fries but the nuggets didn't because the sever wanted the increase on my check. To me that was so clear. So with not wanting to confront Mgr or server on the why's and home comes infront of my daughter I called the Mgr after I left away from my daughter the morning completely took server side and didn't care at all to make it right. I mentioned o the mgr I've been in food service for 20 pluse years from cook chef server and the Mgr response was well u should know that the chicken soaks up the sauce that if I was a hef I should have known this. Read moreHad dinner last night at Rubys here in Waterville we waited for some time and our server was over his head he was a very tall gentleman with a beard and he never gave us his name he did have a black wedding band on mid 40’s . We were a party of 4 two kids and two adults we started with drinks tea and water I asked for limes twice. Received after second request kids asked for apple juice with meals and received water and we asked for the apple juices twice he walked by our table said the juices are coming never did until my 5 year old made a statement of juices !!!!! towards the end of our meals !!!!!! never did a two bite check - until the end. my kids ordered two kids meal we requested a side kids burger that was a half patty looked as though it was bitten . I asked my partner he seemed to think it was just cut in half and grilled and came out at the end with no buns on a plate the server slid it in the middle of the table my 7 year old looked at it dis pleased . my partner requested the buns I tried to lighten the mood with a Joke and a pleasant smile but my son was annoyed and so was my partner waiting….. . At this time we where all done our meals . We where offered refills after out meals where done. I just think the gentleman was in over his head with his 4 tables I asked him nicely if we could get the other burger prior at the pos station and he rolled his eyes at me said yep. But did apologize when he brought the buns out for the burger . We of course paid in full for our whole meal. That was not the issue -SERVICE was - My partner tipped as well. But stated awful service. It’s been year and half sense we ate at ruby’s due to horrific service at the brewer location with poor management from Patricia whom actually messed with our food order purposely.
