What a little gem. We walked right passed the entrance because the sign is on the glass door of the Metropolitan building. You actually enter into a hall that has a Streets of Old Milwaukee (Public Museum) feel that is just comforting for some reason. Dady-Oh's is through the door on the right. The décor is very Americana, and although that does include references to god and religion, it is subtle. In no way is there any sense of having someone else's beliefs thrust upon you. More of a notation of where their values are rooted. Very nice. Our server was very friendly and efficient. In 90+ degree weather she kept our water glasses full without us needing to ask. She herself had an "innocent, small town girl" demeanor to her that was very refreshing. The food is fresh and delicious. My friend had the Dady-Oh High Protein Breakfast and I had the Ham and Turkey Club Sandwich with Coleslaw. My friend could not finish her breakfast as it was quite large, but was very happy with her choice. Said it was delicious. Given the temperature that day, I did not want a hot meal. The club sandwich was perfect; cold, and SO fresh. The coleslaw is the creamy variety - which is my favorite. Not sweet, not tart. Coleslaw as it should be. The size of my meal w perfect so I was able to eat the entire thing and not have leftovers. We both agreed we would definitely go back.

So grateful for this wonderful Friday evening in downtown Waukesha! Really glad they didn't open their doors until 5pm, so I could soak in the beauty of tonight's sunset! We really enjoyed the Fish Fry on their menu. I chose the Baked Haddock, which was so delicious! The rye bread and coleslaw are amazing, too!

Heard great things about this place but after my first visit, I was very disappointed. I found not one but two hairs in my food. I lost my appetite right away. This is the basics you could make at home, tasted nothing special. $5 for ONE chocolate pancake.. Nothing will compare to Gyros West.

What a train wreck!

We expected a possible wait for a table being Father’s Day but after a 20+ minute wait for the table, it took the server almost 15 minutes to even acknowledge us at the table. Our group was literally debating when to just leave when she finally showed up - after taking orders from another table seated after us.

Then began the hour long wait for basic eggs, a pancake and one sandwich. It was busy when we arrived but in the hour after we were seated it was basically half empty a lot of the time we were there - not ‘hour wait for breakfast food’ busy. We needed to ask for refills on drinks and just stare at the weird Christian decor. People can have whatever faith they want, but the level of evangelism from the walls of this place was uncomfortable while we just sat there.

My mom finally asked where our food was after tables seated after us were getting served and we still had nothing. The server lied and said it was ‘up next and they were plating now’ - the so called ‘plating’ took at least another 10 minutes and my omelette arrived with the entire inside as raw egg whites. They clearly had just attempted to cook it when we asked…and no I wasn’t waiting for a refire for the raw eggs after over an hour. All the rest of the food was generic and not worth it.

The cherry on top of this mess was the place is apparently cash only. At no point was this mentioned by anyone, I saw no signs in all the time we were sitting there - it’s 2024 and cash only just isn’t acceptable . My mother thankfully carries cash but the rest of our party does not because it’s just not how business is done, and few places that still live in the 20th century make it clear that they only take cash at the door.

Bad service, bad decor, raw eggs and just overall terrible experience that left everyone...

It's been some years since we've been at this location. I happened upon it while looking for alternatives to our usual breakfast places. We are VERY pleased with rediscovering it. First, parking can be a problem but usually there is space in a nearby public parking lot which isn't any further than the back lots of most busy restaurants. So, I rank that a next to no issue. The entrance to it is a small-town mall type and is the first entrance. The atmosphere reminds me of the many small-town diners that I have visited in the course of traveling the state for my job. Of special note are the posting of Biblical Verses. I like that. Not overdone but makes they very welcoming. there is a mix of tables, wooden booths and a good old fashioned counter if you like them.

As is becoming more popular these days, they are a breakfast and lunch diner, closing at 2pm and 1pm on Sunday. The menu is on both sides of the placemats. I like that. It has all the favorites with enough uniqueness to make it well worth your while to explore this gem of an establishment. Pat had the potato pancake special with eggs and bacon. The bacon was done perfectly. I had the Dady-Oh's omelet which is a fold-over lots of large pieces of ham, vegetables, and Swiss cheese. I chose the fruit and English muffin for sides. We enjoyed it and the coffee enough to plan to return on a more...
