What a DISAPPOINTMENT. I am not sure how this place got so many good reviews but it did not live up to the expectations I had going in. First off, my wife and I arrived at 1:40 on a Sunday afternoon. I ask the waitress several questions about the broth of the ramen and what the difference was between them and she could not answer any of my questions. She insisted on rushing us to get our order in after we said we wanted more time with the menu twice (which I found out why after we ordered). At the time, we were the only table in the restaurant. We ordered two ramen bowls, which I ordered the Miso because it did not state that it had bamboo in it and my wife had the Shoyu. In addition, we ordered three sushi rolls and the seaweed salad. While waiting for our food, my wife noticed there was a happy hour menu on the table that starts at 2:00. I looked at the time and it was 1:57, our ramen arrived at 2:04 and we asked if we were going to get the happy hour price for the items we ordered. The waitress said she would ask her manager and let us know. She returned with the sushi at 2:08 and asked if we needed anything else. My wife said, so what did the manager say, the waitress told us that the manager said no, we will not get the happy hour prices. Ah, now I know why we were rushed to order, she had to get it in before happy hour. I told the waitress that we will NEVER be back and that she should have informed us about the happy hour. Is it that big of a deal, no, but it is the principle. I felt ripped off now and asked for to go containers because we did not want to stay there any longer. We packaged our food and left. No manager interaction, they just let us leave knowing that we will never come back. Now to the food, we returned home to eat. The ramen was mediocre, the pork belly was a little tough, the noodles were hard, and of course the miso had bamboo in it. My wife put one slice of a sushi roll in her mouth and realized she was chewing on a bone the size of the end of my finger (see picture). DISGUSTING, the thing was so big it could have stabbed in her flesh, that was the last straw; it all went in the trash as that is about all their food is good for. I hope that all these people who gave great reviews the first time update their reviews now the place has been open longer. Due to poor/lack of management, subpar food, and clueless wait staff, we will never be back.

1st time -Great service and knowledgeable waitress. Very professional. The appetizer we had was fantastic. My sushi rolls were both fresh and tasty with great presentation on all that came to the table. One of the top places I have eaten. The only draw back was that for some reason they could not get my card to work but after leaving it worked just fine at the shell just down the road. Think its time to look into a new system for cards. The atmosphere was great as well. Like I said only minus is you may be embarrassed by them not being able to run a working card. That being said I will chance that happening agan for such good sushi. After many order ins - Firat return in 2020 - This place is completely awesome. Great people and the food is on point all the time. The truffle Steak is fantastic. The Salmon Ceviche is a personal favorite. I love there poke bouls and there rolls. Everything they do is great. Try it all. I can't beleave the still have not fixed their credit card machine. I guss I'll have to take cash. 3rd in visit. I have been here many times now. They have the debit issue fixed and the service and food is second to none. There poke bowls are a delight to the eye as well as the palet. The presentation and food is on point. One of the best Japanese resturants I have been to. Another visit; another intro of this awesome place to another friend; another satisfied customer. The poky is a great deal and always good. The popers where fantastic this time. The timpora batter was perfectly executed. It's always worth the trip.

This was the best place to celebrate the holidays and the best part was little wait even though it was crowded. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff and owners was incredibly friendly, making the whole experience feel like a delightful culinary journey. What sets this place apart is not just the welcoming atmosphere but also the affordability without compromising on quality. The menu boasts a l selection of fresh sushi with pickled wasabi, each piece meticulously crafted. Every bite was a burst of flavor, a testament to the chef's dedication to using high-quality ingredients. From classic rolls to creative specials (not on the menu: sexy roll and salmon rose roll), there's something for every palate. The affordability here is a pleasant surprise, making it a go-to spot for sushi lovers on any budget. Whether you're a seasoned sushi enthusiast or a first-timer, this restaurant ensures a delightful experience without breaking the bank. I live 30 minutes away and this place definitely worth the drive (and surpass any sushi restaurants in arlington, dallas, and mansfield). I love how many other options from ramen, poke, hibachi). The shaken beef is so good! this gem stands out for its personable service, welcoming ambiance, and a perfect balance of quality and big portions. I can't wait to return for another round of sushi bliss. My new favorite sushi restaurant in the dfw metroplex since Ohana exceeded all expectations!

Phenomenal. I cannot oversell Ohana. Both the food and service quality were fantastic.

I feel it's important to note that as far as I am aware, this is the ONLY place in Waxahachie (not to mention all of Ellis county) to get authentic ramen, and actually the only place within approximately 30 miles/40 minutes, with the next closest locations being in either downtown Dallas or south Arlington.

Considering the above, I had to try the tonkatsu ramen with chashu (pork belly) and an order of fried pork gyoza. Probably some of the best ramen I've ever had. The chashu was almost the best pork I've ever had period. The gyoza was perfectly fried - lightly crispy on the outside without being overdone or hard/chewy, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Presentation was very well done as well.

Service was, if anything, almost over-attentive, which is to be expected in the early opening weeks of any good restaurant, and certainly preferable to the opposite. The owner (Danny) was going table to table chatting with all the customers, inquiring how the food was, and was extremely affable. I overheard several other customers remarking on how good their meals were, and how they couldn't wait to return and try something else from the menu.

For anyone local to the area, you'll recognize the location as previously belonging to a Chinese/Thai restaurant named "Golden Spice" and before that, for many years, a catfish restaurant which was styled after the "Bonanza" steak houses popular in the 70's and 80's. The new owners have done a fantastic job with the interior decorating - literally night and day compared to what it used to be. The ambiance is very warm/cozy, while maintaining a modern flair.

My only concern for Ohana is that it's somewhat tricky to get to unless you know the area. Once you see it from the highway or while exiting, you can't get to it without looping under the highway at the 77 light, and then again at Solon road, and then returning up the service road, or taking a detour through a few suburban side streets (Mark Tr and Houston St). Hopefully this won't cost them too many customers, and if they can maintain their current levels of quality in food and service (always a challenge for new restaurants) word of mouth will certainly spread, and I think they could easily become a culinary hidden gem for...

My wife recently celebrated her 40th birthday at Ohana - Sushi, Ramen, and Poke, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the evening.

The staff at Ohana went above and beyond to make sure that every detail of the celebration was just right. They worked closely with us to create a personalized experience for our group of closest friends, ensuring that my wife's milestone birthday was truly special.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the delicious food. Ohana's menu boasts a fantastic selection of sushi, ramen, and poke bowls, each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. Our group enjoyed sampling a variety of dishes, from the fresh and flavorful sushi rolls to the comforting and aromatic ramen bowls.

But the standout dish of the evening was the green tea tiramisu. It was an absolute masterpiece, perfectly balancing the delicate flavors of green tea with the rich creaminess of traditional tiramisu. Each bite was a taste sensation, and it quickly became the talk of the table.

In addition to the fantastic food, the service at Ohana was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure that our party had everything we needed throughout the evening. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence truly made the celebration memorable.

Overall, I cannot recommend Ohana - Sushi, Ramen, and Poke highly enough for special occasions and celebrations. Whether you're looking to host a birthday party, anniversary celebration, or any other milestone event, Ohana is the perfect choice. Thank you to the entire team at Ohana for making my wife's 40th birthday celebration one for the books! We'll definitely...
