Picked up some yellow tail that had a slight tint of green. Smelled disgusting and called the attendant over. They took it back but they never bothered to get the other plate of the same colored yellow tail. God bless whoever took it.
I also ordered a beef and rice (I was put off from any fish after the yellow tail) it was served in a box, all I got was laughable slivers of meet with 60% or more of it being just fat. The white rice was over cooked to the point it resembled chunky pudding.
Their soda machine must be broken, I’ve never ordered flat and odd tasting coke before. I felt like everything at this place went wrong.
The hosts there dressed like they couldn’t care less, they just threw on their uniform.
The containers that the food was served in were all dirty and sticky. But this could be due to the fact that the cooks in the back probably don’t switch gloves and cross contaminated the dishware.
Overall this place sucked, their promotions didn’t match what they served, they had spyxfamily ice cream advertised but it wasn’t available to order.
Overall just a lazy establishing, lazy managers hiring lazy workers. I’ve gotten better service at gas stations than what can be provided here.
The sad thing is that this is next to Ohayo sushi, which we overheard the other patrons mention that it was tons better than Kura.
They are right, don’t bother stoping here. Go to Samurai down the block. They have sushi happy hour and have better quality.
Don’t come here if you want good sushi. This is a lazy American imitation of what plenty of other authentic family owned restaurants have. Go somewhere else, you have...
Read moreHave been to different Kura locations in the past, so when I heard there was one here in Webster I was excited to try it out! Unfortunately the customer service and overall experience was not on par with the previously tried locations. The customer service was nearly nonexistent. I understand the way the restaurant is set up is to be more of a hands-off vibe, were you pretty much just use the tablet and sushi bar to get all your food or drinks. But when actually needing some help from the staff there is a “call” button on the screen to get assistance. During our visit we needed some additional utensils for my mother who was struggling to learn how to use chop sticks. We had asked if we could just get one fork for her and about 10 minutes later no one had come back. So we pressed the call button again and waited for someone to help us. Once they arrived we told them again if we could get a fork and so we got one this time. Next was the drink situation. After finishing your drink there is no one to ask if you would like a refill, now you can order another one from the tablet and will be delivered to you via a robot, but that is gonna cost you again for the same drink. Tables were a bit dirty, had some rice and sauce on the table and plate slot still. The sushi overall was good but not the best I’ve had for a minimum of 3.25 per plate. But really it was the lack of customer service that kinda ruined my excitement of returning...
Read moreBy far the very worst sushi conveyor place I’ve been to. I don’t know how this chain has numerous locations. While the server was amazing with service. The server bot was not and chose not to deliver my drink after 10 minutes. Terrible. I had request a human in the form of the host Ben to graciously bring me one. The food was mush. There was no Crunchyrolls to speak of or a tasty tuna salad with sesame ponzu dressing. Also, the ordering menu could’ve been lowered by a foot and a half because I was having to do aerobics at the restaurant and then I almost smacked my guest because I’m trying to reach for the menu delivery tablet thing. That was the worst set up ever ever ever ever. It was pretty cool the concept of having the food being delivered like an Amtrak conveyor belt and the announcement of the tablet announcing food was arriving. The decor was all anime related, anyone who loves anime will like this place for that if nothing else. The bathroom featured a bidet set up and when I went to go use it it didn’t work so that was disappointing.
The only thing that I truly like there was the soup, but how hard is it to warm up udon noodles and salty broth which is why I only tipped a dollar sadly.
Will definitely not be coming back here. I enjoyed the company of my friends and the server...
