Terrible service, good sushi.....My husband and I were finally able to have a date night. We had planned for this night the last two weeks. Our dinner choice was CO in Waverly, and it could not have been worse. We arrive and the hostess was very nice and sat us at our table we asked if there were any open outside they said no. We sit down next to a family and the father was constantly clearing his throat in a disgusting manner. I went and asked the hostess if we could move not so pleasant to listen to during dinner. She was very accommodating and moved us to the other side of the restaurant, I also asked again if they had any tables outside and she said she would put us on the waiting list and move us if one was available. I asked yes please but couldn't help but wonder why she didn't ask that in the first place since we asked for one at arrival, but that's ok no big deal. Then we sat and waited probably 20 minutes to have a server come to our table. He arrived and apologized and said he didn't realize we had moved. Ok no problem, we ordered our drinks and 4 appetizers, with asking some questions on dinner dishes and told him we will decide when drinks came so we didn't make him stand there while deciding. I told him we would also be moving again if a table opens outside. He said no problem he went and checked if we were moving soon so he could put our order under correct table number, he confirmed we are moving to outdoor area and he would serve us there. We move and sit and sit I watch our waiter serve others outside with drinks and taking orders... I try to flag him down to mention our drink orders again, and he ignores us at all costs I'm 95 percent sure he heard me and continued on as he had not. We have different servers bring our appetizers and I asked one to please check with our server regarding our drinks and food order. We sit and eat all 4 appetizers waiting to order our meal yes we were planning on having lots of left overs, and wanted to try many different items. No one checks on us, no one brings drinks, nothing we sat there for 40 minutes after receiving appetizers and nothing. Finally the waiter comes by and I am so upset at this point I said can we get the bill please we need to go, about 15 minutes later he comes with bill I had card ready in my hand and immediately hold it up to him and he walks away and says be right back...... he came back quickly this time and took the card. Aagin we wait and wait again I see him serving others and I am almost to the point of screaming give me my card NOW! The hostess looks at us and notices something is wrong, and asks how we are doing I explained well we wanted drinks, we wanted to place our order and apparently we can not do that I said please, please, please go get my card so we CAN GO! She apologized and asked if we wanted the manager I explained no please just get my card now I want to leave now, as this was a night to enjoy a night we have been dying for she runs in interupts our server during taking another tables order to get our card back. We get it and RAN!.... I was in tears and my husband was supper quiet during all of it to keep his temper in check. We went a couple businesses down to get some ice cream and all was perfect there, we also walked to the pizzeria close by and everyone there was so nice and accommodating even though they were about 20 minutes till closing we got some drinks at the bar and received a pizza to have some left overs for kids, the other two businesses made our night better! Moral is that the service may ruin your special night we will never be back and after just now reading the other reviews, I am shocked that the manager would not be checking on customers since we are not the only one's that experienced this.. and they were there or the hostess would not have asked if we wanted to talk...
Read moreCo Waverly is usually a fine place to dine, however after a disastrous encounter today, I can say with certainty that myself, and my co-workers will never be back. Our office orders from Co, Waverly on average of about twice a week, every single week. We place our order online and then retrieve it later on. Today the routine proceeded as normal. I placed our collective order, received TWO confirmation emails and went to pick up our order, after the designated time. Upon arrival I requested my order at the bar and was met with looks of confusion saying the "online system was down" this has happened in the past, but when that's occurred, my order has bounced back and payment is declined. That did not happen this time. So then a gentleman who was referred to as a manager came to take my order and apologized one time. He wrote down the order and I proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for them to complete a lunch order for 4 individuals... After waiting, with no offer to compensate me or the group for the inconvenience I left with what was described as the complete order. My own mistake, I did not check the order... It was incorrect. Received an entree that no one ordered, one meal left out, and a side dish left out. I called to complain on the error and was told the order would be ready in 10 minutes. I go back to the restaurant, wait another 15 minutes and am told "sorry we'll compensate you for the 1 meal we left off and the side dish" Fine, whatever, I am trying not to be frustrated at this time. However, upon arriving back at work, my co-worker finds her rice (a key ingredient to the Thai Green Curry dish) has been left out... Co, Waverly made one embarrassing blunder after another and it is such a shame as the food use to be so delicious. However, recent increase in pricing, decrease in service has just allowed what should be a great restaurant to suffer and...
Read moreIt’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, however the ownership and management staff need to be aware that this restaurant is failing its customers. Before writing this review, I looked up other poor reviews and saw that there is a theme here. I’ve been to CO a few times before, but over time, the quality has gone down. Today, I brought an out of town friend to eat here and unfortunately, the food was inedible. We had to throw most of it out. The chicken in one of our dishes was strangely crunchy as if it was either old or not fully cooked. The summer rolls had old vegetables and especially the bean sprouts which were completely brown. My friend had sushi and she said it just tasted off. Mind you our order was a to go order so we took our food and ate outside because it was such a nice day. We ended up throwing most of it away, but my friend decided to call the restaurant to let them know about the poor food experience. They brought the manager on the phone and it just got worse from there. Basically, she was questioning us rather than trying to make it right. Her first offer was to make the food again. We didn’t want them making more food for us because that would be a waste so my friend suggested a gift card for future use. The manager basically rudely said they didn’t do gift cards but they would refund the money, however we would need to email her photos of the uneaten food I guess to prove that it looked bad? I’ve never had a restaurant ask me to prove that my food was bad. More importantly, the manager, Christine did not have a service oriented style of resolving customer feedback. She was very defensive and somewhat argumentative. This is what prompted us to write this review. We will not be back to CO, especially given all of the other...
