Most distasteful and discriminatory business EVER. This was a part-time bar-tending gig aside from being a full-time high school teacher on the opposite side of town I started just shy of a month ago. Started off as a wonderful experience up until about a week ago when they laid off the previous manager. Despite being the only African American on what seemed to be the entire payroll aside from the dishwasher, I could not help but notice that when receiving a voicemail that said " You don't fit what we are looking for for the bar anymore so please return your shirt" by a new manager hired a week ago that the "new look" is a "white look". I will not be patronizing the business going forward. The most disgusting thing I've experienced from an employer in my life. Hopefully the new racist management can begin to run the pizzas out on time or at least handle the normal busy Friday rush, because from the circus show I've been seeing lately, if you do choose to eat here, choose a slow day or you will be dissatisfied with your order.
Dear Manager replying with false accusations and deformation of me and my very honest and remote comments shows how even more disgusting of a company this is. If you would like for me to ask everyone who actually worked with me there to also record their accounts of my service and treatment of them I will be glad to. I’ve been in the both the education and customer service industry longer than this place has existed. These are two things that I have an ADVANCED education and skill set at with impeccable references. I’ve NEVER either from a supervisor at this company or another been a little as pulled aside or questioned about providing QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE even after starting at this company on a Friday evening with not even so much as an orientation or resgister practice and never even dropped my smile. So I’m afraid whoever had the nerve to respond with this smug inaccurate sarcasm is yet another discriminatory authoritative figure representing this establishment or maybe another “new face.” Ironically you have never had an employee review (as I check prior to working at or dining at any establishment) until mine was posted a week ago. Wonder why such the high turnover how in such a short time? Or why there’s always so many “new” faces all of a sudden? Or how in weeks time you now have “diversity”? Just a little food for thought....
Read moreOwner of this business, you really need to bring back a manager like the one you had before. I think his name was John. This place has become very inconsistent and not very clean. Your employees are constantly on their phones, they do not wear hair coverings like they are supposed to, especially those with long hair, and most of them are not wearing gloves. Overall, the place just is not being kept clean anymore.
I used to really enjoy coming here when Manager John kept things clean and organized. I am not sure why he is no longer working here, but I can say one thing, he was the best, and this was the best pizza place I had ever been to when the management was solid and the old crew was awesome.
I would gladly update my review if the business becomes more organized and sanitary. Please hire a better manager and crew who can hold the employees accountable so they stay focused, get off their phones, and stop touching pizza toppings after handling dirty items like their phones, brooms, and rags. I literally sat and watched them, and it is just not appetizing at all. I am extremely disappointed.
I will say the pizza is still good, it is just not great like it used to be because it is very inconsistent. When John worked there, this place was perfect. There were also two guys, Logan and Dakota, who made some of the best pizzas I have ever had. I understand the importance of strong management, so please take this seriously. I am a business owner myself, and if this is not addressed, you are going to lose a lot of customers.
I highly recommend that the owner hire a stronger manager or properly train the current one. I am not even sure who is in charge anymore. With the right leadership, this place could be...
Read moreGo to Pizza Peel instead! First time visiting DeSano's with a couple of friends and sadly our party of four was disappointed. The place appears like a normal sit-down restaurant, but you actually order at the front counter. Unfriendly staff, way overpriced pizza which was average at best. I paid $44.93 for a 16" pizza with three toppings and one beer ($7). When I was adding the toppings, I asked if there is a limit and the employee said, max of three toppings... usually this means that's the max included for that price and anything in addition to that is extra $ per toping. It was not clear (nor did the employee say) that it was $4 per topping. On top of all this, they didn't have full tableside service and I found it offensive they even had the nerve to put a spot on the receipt for a tip. The "service" included them bringing the pizza to the table. They didn't bring out the beer and when someone from our table went to grab a to-go box, the young girl rudely asked "why are you taking a box?" to which we simply answered since you don't have table side service, how else would I get a go-home box unless we fetch it ourselves? Lastly, there wasn't a single person in sight that appeared to have been over the age of 17. Perhaps having a seasoned Manager on site with experience, would have provided coaching opportunities for the employees on proper customer service. Needless to say, never going back. I can think of a lot of other places nearby with way better pizza with much better atmosphere and actual table service. I recommend Pizza Peel over this...
