Naf Naf Grill — Restaurant in Weddington

Middle Eastern food is my favorite genre, so when I saw that Naf Naf opened up close to our house, I was super excited to try it. Here are my thoughts based on my shawarma plate: Proteins: Chicken shawarma was good - 7/10, but missing the flavor and texture of traditional carved Shawarma. The falafel was really good, nice taste, and consistency 8/10 Carbs, the yellow rice was good 8/10 Hummus, good taste and texture, loved the oil and spices they put on it 8/10 Salads, would’ve loved to have seen some tabbouleh, but the sumac onions, purple cabbage, tomato and cucumber were all nice 8/10 Sauces, great choices including garlic sauce, tzatziki and tahini 9/10 Pita was warm and fresh, and unusually thick, but I liked it! 8/10 Utensils, would have loved to have seen eco-friendly utensils (wood, etc)

I can't really speak to atmosphere as I had at to go order. When I arrived my order was ready but I had no cup for my drink. When I asked about it, the employee looked at my receipt that clearly said I had purchased a drink, but then she asked me to wait a minute. She went to the back and a few minutes later reappeared and gave me a cup. That should not have been so difficult. The food was ok, the seasoning a bit mild, but ok. The pita was so stale that I could not eat it. I mean like drywall stale. I may give it a second chance, but honestly if you can't manage lunch on a Wednesday I don't know. It was not crowded, so that could be a sign as well. The rice was good, but it did not include the sauce add on that...

Anabella and Andrew were a fantastic team of servers!! It was my first time and they were so kind and friendly to answer all my questions.

I love that they have the plate option to get 2 proteins (bowl is just 1 protein). The spicy hummus was AMAZING!

When I ordered the lentil soup they recommended the Moroccan sauce that went with it. The lentil soup was delicious but even more delicious with the Moroccan sauce that had cinnamon.

Music: could use middle eastern music instead of American pop music
