Bad gelato, on top of bad, dishonest service
I watch my calorie intake and if I am going to indulge, it has to be a fine dessert such as a gelato. Skip this place, it’s not worth the calories; you will be more satisfied and better served at the yogurt place around the corner that sells by weight.
My wife, daughters, and myself got different flavors and all of them had a chemically, powdered milk-like aftertaste. Lately I’ve been into caramel sea-salt and this place does not even get close, the taste was of chewy Kraft caramel candy. Tasted my daughter’s chocolate hazelnut and it had chunks of hard frozen ice cream - it is supposed to be creamy.
Service was bad, borderline dishonest. Ordered 4 gelatos, and was billed for 5. When the attendant could not figure out how to refund the extra gelato the owner or manager could not process the refund either. What’s worse, he told me they’d been having issues with their machine all day, said the transaction never went through, and asked me to pay in cash instead. The receipt included an approval number but he insisted that did not mean anything. In less than 20 seconds I accessed my checking account via my iPhone app and was able to show him the charge. I said they could refund in cash, but the guy said he could not do that either, incredible!
Being a new place I would have overlooked the overcharge itself as inexperience of the attendant, but bad gelato, on top of dishonest service is a no-no. I am staying away...

The gelato is so creamy and delicious. They have a wide range of unique flavors and all the classics too. They have Strawberry—my personal favorite—watermelon, basil, mango, and even goat cheese gelato!
I like Gemelli; their gelato is better than any other ice cream shop. They only use the freshest and best ingredients in them. The gelato flavors change from each season, but they are always the best I’ve ever had.
The service is so fast that you get your gelato instantly when you order it. You can order online or come to the shop to enjoy it there. They are so nice to all their customers that come in. The owner of this little shop, who is from Italy, knows how to make the best desserts.
The seating is inside and outside. The inside seating has couches and tables, and also stools next to the window of West Chester. The outside has a little table with two chairs on the path next to the road.
I would recommend going to Gemelli if you have never had italian gelato before. I love to go there on a nice hot summer day to cool off with the finest...
Read moreHubby and I have spent the last couple of weekends road-tripping in West Chester PA with our golden retriever and we absolutely fell in love with the small town charm. After a long day of hiking in French Creek State Park we decided to stop by for a gelato before heading back to our hotel to rest before dinner. After taking a few minutes to peruse all the different flavors I went with a small gelato with 2 different flavors - Ricotta, Poached Pears & Chocolate Shavings on top and Goat Cheese with Raspberry Jam on the bottom. Both flavors were absolutely delicious, so rich and you could taste how fresh all the fruits and cheeses were. Hubby doesn't usually like ricotta so I waited until after he had a few bites and seemed to enjoy it that I told him what the flavor was. The prices were a bit more than you would expect to find for a frozen dessert but trust me, well worth it (I rarely finish any ice cream but with this gelato I was licking the cup). Looking forward to coming back to try some new flavors in...
