Overall a really bad experience. Haven't been here in a couple years- we were both wanting to have steak for our anniversary so we decided to return to Pietro's. We were sat at our outdoor table just after 6:30 pm. By 6:38 we decided to go to the host stand to ask for a wine list so that whenever our server had time to come to our table, we'd be ready to tell her/him what we would like. She came by a few minutes later and robotically listed the 50 specials they had that night. Zero personality, zero acknowledgement of how long we waited for her to come. We put our wine, appetizer and 2 entree selections in with her all at once. 45 minutes later, she brought us some bread then asked if we wanted some more wine (since we had been empty and not seen her in over 25 minutes) at which time we asked if our appetizer was coming soon. "Yes" is all she said. 15 minutes later our calamari arrived. Tasted fine, nothing special. My husband ordered the 10 oz "house" ribeye (our favorite and most usual cut of steak to order when we eat out) and I got one of the specials of the night- a hanger steak with frites. Truffle fries were excellent. Hanger steak was more tender and tasty than I expected but at $40 for that cut of meat, I would've been super disappointed if it wasn't. My husband's ribeye was hands down the worst, toughest cut of meat that either of us have Ever eaten. I still don't believe to this day that it was a ribeye. He ordered it med rare and it was cooked properly. My husband chewed on 2 bites of it and almost 2 minutes later, spit out both bites. It just wouldn't break down. It honestly tasted like a top round steak that I wouldn't feed to my dog. This place either needs to check in with where they get their meat or they need to retrain their chefs on how to cook a steak. The manager told us that if she had been our server, she would've convinced us not to order that cut of meat. ??? After a several minute conversation about it, she offered to take it off our bill. Which then wasn't taken off so we had to go looking for the manager to ask her to void and re-run our check. Aside from that...zero ambiance which on our anniversary, would've been nice. No music, no candle on our table, just nothing special. When we made our reservation, we were asked if it was a special occasion. I listed Anniversary. But when we came for our reservation, no one mentioned anything about it. Not a huge deal but honestly- are they asking what occasion we're celebrating for some sort of survey they are doing? Asking for a...
Read moreWe had such high hopes for this restaurant. We really wanted to like it and others clearly did since the place was packed on a recent Saturday night. When we arrived we were quickly seated by a lovely hostess but our snippy waitress quickly set the tone for a disappointing evening as she circled like a shark when we didn’t order quickly enough. Asking for another drink, one person in our party said, “When you have a moment if I could have another glass of X” was met with an exasperated, “I only have two hands…” and there were other similarly snippy replies the few times we asked for something. As for the food, the steaks were quite good but the sides were substandard. The creamed spinach was a gloopy, slimy mess with seemingly whole leaves and plenty of loooooong stems that were literally gag worthy. Scalloped potatoes were not potato rounds layered with cream and butter and cheese but instead arrived in a small dish filled with chopped up potato cubes - like the kind you get in a diner with your short order omelet - swimming in cheese-flavored grease. And if you are planning on having a conversation with your friends be ready to shout at the top of your lungs in order for them to hear you and vice versa as the dining room is all hard surfaces with a very low ceiling so the sound bounces around to deafening effect. The owners should install acoustic material to absorb some of the noise. Doing so could really help the unrelenting volume that goes beyond people having a great time and way into misery territory. We watched several tables give up all effort at conversation and these diners ate in miserable silence. We however did manage to have an actual conversation over our dinners until the live band started - they actually were a great cover band - but this extra noise layered over the already unbearable decibel levels made ANY conversation impossible so we skipped dessert and coffee and quickly paid the check and left. Stepping out into the late summer night was an absolute relief and we all remarked how our ears were ringing as if we had been to a rock concert. None of us had ever eaten in such a noisy environment. Ever. So if you like gloopy, poorly executed sides, an impatient waitress and deafening sound levels, you will love this place. If none of this sounds like a great steak house experience with the requisite $$$ bill, you might want to book elsewhere. Sadly we wont...
Read moreI recently scheduled the office Christmas Dinner party, where I had the pleasure of dining at "Pietro's Prime" with my associates, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Avery Langin and Mark Guinta, who made us feel like we were a part of the family. As we were escorted to our table, I was surrounded by the inviting ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of perfectly cooked steaks and the pleasant smiles of waitstaff and happy diners.
The menu included a wide variety of mouthwatering options, offering a promising carnivorous delight, including options for those wanting something of a lighter entrée. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, guiding us through the selections and offering valuable recommendations based on our preferences.
We started our meal with a variety of appetizers, which included and wouldn't have been complete without the calamari and shrimp.
As for the main course, the corn fed Black Angus steak was an absolute masterpiece (growing up in South Central Texas, I know good beef). Cooked to perfection, it was juicy, flavorful, and melted in my mouth with each bite. The combination of succulent beef that had been perfectly seared on the outside and tender on the inside, left our taste buds yearning for more. The sides were equally impressive, from the creamy mashed potatoes to the ever so slight, al dente fresh vegetables.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience. The dim lighting and rustic fireplace created a cozy and intimate atmosphere, making it an ideal place for a special celebration or a romantic evening.
The staff's professionalism and genuine passion for providing an exceptional dining experience were evident throughout our visit. The attention to detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the timing of each course, was commendable.
Pietro's Prime is a haven for steak enthusiasts. It is a culinary experience that satisfies the senses and leaves a lasting impression. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch steak experience and I can't wait to return and explore more of their...
