Square Bar — Restaurant in West Chester

So, my dad/hero (RIP) and I used to predominantly haunt Becco’s … and Maloney&Porcelli’s + Cité in Hell’s Kitchen. (RIP the last two restaurants 😭 as well.) Spoto’s in 33418 and Barrio Star in San Diego … this seems like the oddest review. But my point is that I haven’t felt compelled to write anything until I had two whiskey sours and a cheesesteak at the Square Bar, today. In fact, I haven’t gone to many restaurants/bars at all since my dad passed in 2020. To come into such an awesome environment with banging food and encounter two awesome employees; (didn’t catch the name of the killer cheesteak maker-queen) and Gretchen. The drinks—environment—food—and two ladies working there, helped me to feel comfortable, like I wanted to stay, and forget any sads for the time being. Highly recommend x’s a million

Most horrible experience ever. I ordered a pizza and there were many plastic pieces in it. I pulled plastic out of 3 slices that I had already eaten from. A fourth slice I took a video of my friend pulling one out of. I told the bartender trying to be cool about it. He comes to our table and I showed him the plastic and he is very nice says he will comp everything. 20 minutes go by and the manager comes. Says under PA state law he can only comp our food, says YES THERE WERE PLASTIC PIECES ON YOUR FOOD, WE FIGURED OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IN THE KITCHEN IS, but under pa state law... Came here last night with some friends. Somewhat uncomfortable when we walked in as every single person at the bar looked at us. However, I chalk this up to us being 20 somethings in a bar full of older regulars. Six of us sat down at one of the tables and had good conversation and drinks. The Phillies game was on and it was fun to see the regulars get excited when something good happened.
