I came here with my family on a Tuesday night and everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was fantastic! There wasn't a single dish that we didn't positively LOVE. As an appetizer, we ordered the Cajun pierogis, and they were delicious: hot, cheesy, and very flavorful. I also couldn't believe how quickly they were brought out to us (not that it tasted like it was sitting around or anything though)! As for entrees, we ordered the pistachio fried chicken, andouille meatloaf, chicken and waffles, southern brisket sandwich, and some sort of ahi tuna special of the day. The fried chicken was nicely crusted (both for the texture and the flavor); the meatloaf was HUGE; the waffles were perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and paired perfectly with the chicken and the sauce; the brisket had all the perfect toppings and plenty of juicy flavor; and the ahi tuna was prepared perfectly rare and came with a considerable sized steak. Even the side VEGETABLES were tasty! Plus, they gave you so much food that we really felt like we got an excellent deal for the price, and even walked away with several containers of food to eat as leftovers. In addition, our waitress was quick, efficient, friendly, and very attentive, and I really appreciate that she was able to give great recommendations and input as to what to order. Considering how great EVERYTHING was, I think we'd be safe to order completely different dishes the next time we come and still be thrilled. Overall, we had a FANTASTIC experience and this has easily become my new favorite restaurant in the area! I haven't a single criticism.
6/13/17 UPDATE: I came back here again with the same group as last time and just like last time, we were thrilled. Beginning with when the waitress seated us, I was pretty impressed that she actually recognized us from last time (two months ago) and even remembered that we had sat at the same table then too, which is really impressive. This time as an appetizer for the table, we ordered the goat cheese stuffed wings...As for the main dishes, ALL four of the family members I came with ordered the same exact thing as last time, since the food was so fantastic last time. For a family of adventurous eaters, this was shocking, and in fact I don't think this has ever happened to us before at any other restaurant (which just goes to show how good the food is). As for me, since what I ordered last time was just a daily special at the time, I was the only one who did order something different: the pumpkin goat cheese salad with a pan seared crab cake. Fortunately, it didn't...
Read moreUsually the food and service is wonderful here. However went last week and service was TERRIBLE. First of all, it took some time to be greeted (at least 10 minutes and the dinner rush was over). Then the server took our drink order and our bar drinks took AT LEAST 15 minutes. I would have expected the server to come take our order or at least tell us there is a hold up at the bar. No he did neither of those things. We were now seated for close to a half hour with no drinks and our order hadn’t been taken. We placed an order for two apps, wings and nachos, and gave our dinner order to the server. We asked for pico on the side for the nachos as I cannot eat tomatoes because of a digestive disease that I have. Our appetizers came out with pico ALL over them and barely any cheese. We did not have any silverware or napkins and had to physically get up to search the restaurant to find some because our server never came to see how the food was. Then our entrees came out less than 5 minutes after our apps.Apps we didn’t even get a chance to try and eat because we had no utensils or napkins. Our server again, never came to check on us. We were at a small 4 person table. All of the appetizer main plates, side plates, and now entree plates were all still on the table. We had kept stacking plates on the bar next to us, thinking someone would get the hint, but no, they did not. Lastly, the server finally made an appearance, no longer in uniform, but with a sweatshirt on and his hood up to drop off the check and saying “here ya go.” Walking away from the table, not offering boxes or clearing any of the plates that were still all there from the beginning. We again had to go search a server station for boxes for ourselves. Even after picking up our payment and returning with payment, he still never once cleared a single plate. The only saving Grace from this experience was that dinner was delicious, but I didn’t realize I’d be spending over a $100 to basically...
Read moreWe were here on a Thursday night in April with a party of 12 for a birthday. We called ahead for a reservation and arrived around 6p. They had arranged for us to be in the Sinatra room so it was a private space. I noticed in the way in that their dining area and bar were not full but there were plenty of people.
The table ordered a few appetizers and small plates to start. Firecracker crawfish was very good - probably my favorite of everything we had that night. The menu felt southern inspired. Everyone ordered their meals. I had the bronzed salmon and that was good but I had filled up on appetizers and wasn’t able to finish it. Everyone else’s meals looked great. The portion sizes are big so several from the group had to-go containers to take home. I would say most of the entrees were definitely sharable.
Our servers were friendly and very attentive. We didn’t wait long for anything. Before anyone ran out of water or drinks they were right there ready to replenish. They had a special printed menu for us that had a happy birthday message at the top and that was a nice detail.
The atmosphere was casual but the building looks historic so it gives that kind of classic vibe. I don’t know if Frank Sinatra was ever in the building but I could see that space being an old 50s cigar bar or something.
We had an...
