AfterBar — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

For a long anticipated bar, this definitely misses the mark. Here on a Thursday night, the crowd is .. how do I put this, “confused”. Music is loud, too clubby I guess; this seems to encourage the patrons to speak loud or scream even. Overall the vibe seems more like a sports bar ( maybe thats a stretch but something like that) aspiring to be different. The actual bar is nice but lackluster, especially the back wall where the liquor is showcased. That said, my partner likes how open the whole place is! Drinks : mediocre - tried “ fly me to the fair” and “ oxacan on broken glass” the first was too sweet, the latter decent.. basic. Bartenders , friendly Bar snacks, nothing to speak of. Really 2.5 stars, but 3 to encourage them .. i dunno maybe with time the “blah...

I almost didn't want to review AfterBar because then I'd be giving away what feels like my secret downtown hangout bar... but it's such a chill vibe with friendly bartenders and a great atmosphere.

It's a real cozy bar, no TVs which I personally like, music isn't overly loud so you can talk but loud enough that you don't feel like you're yelling to the whole bar. They have an outdoor patio that's closed when it's cold, but I'm usually parked at the bar. It's really great, and I've been looking for a chill bar in the area.

While On A Stroll Yesterday Evening My BestFriend & I Decided To Stop By The Afterbar & Oh Boy Was It An Amazing Time.? ABSOLUTELY! It wasn’t crowded, I think that’s what we loved the most! The decor was beautiful, the night view of the park was aesthetically pleasing, the drinks were AMAZING Just like the 2 bartenders Patrick & Christian. They were very warm & welcoming! They were also very talented with their crafts! We were both very very pleased with our drinks they were very flavorful! Funny thing, I felt like they were able to make us drinks that fit our personalities PERFECTLY! That was a big plus for us! We are very excited to revisit here on our next date. Great Job Guys We...
