Swadeshi is a charming cafĂ© that brings Indian snacks to the table with a creative twist. The âSamosa Croissantâ is one such example where Swadeshi cafĂ© expertly combines the flavors of a samosa and a croissant. While the menu is concise, everything I tried was of high quality. Itâs easy to find a table if you are looking to work from this cafĂ©. I ordered three items, all of which were creatively crafted. I worked at the cafĂ© for a good hour without feeling distracted. My only complaint is that the music could be a little less loud.
Here is what I ordered:
Swadeshi Breakfast Sandwich (Photo): This sandwich reminded me of the âMcAloo Tikkiâ burger from McDonaldâs in India. While this might not excite everyone, Indian patrons will be delighted. Vegetarian Indian folks can remove the egg and still enjoy it. The sandwich has a very crisp texture that dissolves nicely once you start chewing. I paired this sandwich with a cup of Chai, which was the best Chai Iâve had outside of my kitchen in the US. The spices added are reminiscent of those used in an Indian householdâs daily Chai. I highly recommend getting both the Chai and this sandwich to anyone looking to acquaint their taste buds with authentic Indian flavors.
Samosa Chaat Croissant: The Samosa Chaat Croissant was a pleasant surprise. The filling is authentically made and closely resembles the famous Indian snack âSamosa.â This is another highly recommended item at Swadeshi.
Portion: Each item is portioned as a snack.
Ambience: The café is decorated in a simple and minimalist style. The food is presented on steel plates, which is a very Indian touch that I loved. They preserve the authenticity of India without overdoing it.
Overall: 9/10 IG:...

Food:- Ordered BUTTER CHICKEN CROISSANT and SALTED JAGGERY LATTE (with lite ice & normal malt-cow milk).
Itâs a very good way to create an innovative fusion of eastern and western food. I give full marks for this.
The SALTED JAGGERY LATTE was A-one. Itâs a good summer drink for those who like light sweet in a cool sweet drink.
The chicken pieces mixed with butter chicken gravy over the croissant in the BUTTER CHICKEN CROISSANT shall be made a little spicy or shall have options of different spice levels. But the combination is amazing.
Service:-
Typical western style order procedures with token collection. If opted to have food in the restaurant then the staffs would reach you with your food at your desk, which is very amazing for small restaurants like this.
Fusion of typical desi and western style serving etiquette like steel plate with fork and spoon.
Atmosphere:-
Itâs a good place to get connected with other desi people in and around the city. The ambience is very energetic and party centric.
People interested in throwing team brunches, fundraising meetings, family meetings, casual co-working space meetings along with desi music playing in the background then this is the perfect spot for getting along with your people.
A lot is opportunity is available for the founders or owners of the restaurant to expand to a larger scale. The quality and hygiene is already at par with other big restaurants in the city. Just keep in mind this shall not fade with your...
Read moreSwadesi Cafe welcomes you with cozy vibes and a desi touch, perfect for a local hangout. But let's dive into the food and experience.
First up, the Swadesi breakfast sandwich. It pleasantly surprised me with its delicious taste and satisfying combination of flavors and textures. Then there's the samosa chaat croissant. It sounds fancy, right? But the reality is, it's a mashup that doesn't quite work. Plus, they donât offer silverware, so cutting through with plastic butter knives was a bit of a struggle.
Now, onto drinks. The salted jaggery caramel latte is a winner. It's got this unique taste that hits the spot. But here's the kicker: the service. We ordered two lattes, one regular and one with oat milk for our lactose-intolerant friend. But guess what? They donât label the drinks and obviously mixed them up! Our friend ended up feeling sick afterwards.
And let's not forget about the chai. It's... meh. Not terrible, but not something I'd crave.
Now, onto the hustle and bustle. Since Swadesi Cafe is new, itâs buzzing, especially on weekends. Thereâs a massive queue for ordering, and finding a seat takes forever. To top it off, thereâs no service to help you find a table; you have to wait and pounce once someone gets up.
In the end, Swadesi Cafe is okay for a one-time visit. The atmosphere is nice, and some dishes hit the mark. But with service slip-ups and average food, it's not a place I'd rush back to. Iâm hoping it improves as time passes by. With a bit of tweaking and attention to detail, Swadesi Cafe could become...
