I and my family absolutely LOVE the Alhambra Palace AND Victoria AND ALL the staff including the Morocco gentlemen who is so very nice! My favorite palace of Chicago offers a remarkable combination of history, art, and culinary delights. The drinks are expertly crafted, and the food menu features a tantalizing selection of Middle Eastern and North African dishes that will leave you craving for more. Going back to Victoria's exceptional service further elevates the dining experience, ensuring that you feel pampered and well taken care of throughout your visit. Also, she’s an excellent photographer and takes such beautiful pictures. I just love them and will get them printed.
Starting with the drinks, Alhambra Palace offers a variety of refreshing and unique options. The signature Alhambra Palace cocktail is a must-try, with its perfect balance of flavors and presentation. For those seeking a non-alcoholic drink, their mocktails are equally impressive, featuring creative combinations of flavors that are both refreshing and satisfying.
Moving on to the food, Alhambra Palace offers a menu that showcases the rich and diverse cuisine of the Middle East and North Africa. From traditional mezze platters to succulent kebabs and aromatic tagines, every dish is crafted with care and attention to detail. The flavors are truly exceptional, with each bite transporting you to the vibrant streets of the region.
One standout dish is the lamb tagine, which is cooked to perfection and served with tender meat that melts in your mouth. The blend of spices and aromatic herbs creates a symphony of flavors that is truly unforgettable. Another must-try is the falafel platter, with crispy yet moist falafel served alongside a variety of delicious dips and sauces.
The service provided by Victoria was simply outstanding. Her warm and friendly demeanor made us feel instantly welcomed and her knowledge of the menu was impressive. She took the time to explain each dish and provided excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Her attention to detail and genuine care for our dining experience made our visit truly memorable.
As for the ambiance, stepping into Alhambra Palace is like entering a different world. The intricate Moorish-inspired decor, with its stunning hand-carved furniture, beautiful stone mosaics, and mesmerizing crystal chandeliers, creates a truly magical atmosphere. The attention to detail and commitment to authenticity is evident in every corner of the restaurant, transporting diners to the grandeur of the original Alhambra.
In conclusion, dining at Alhambra Palace is a feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, you are immersed in a world of history, art, and delicious cuisine. Read moreMy recent visit to the Alhambra Palace for the Moroccan show event was a rollercoaster of emotions. I had high hopes for the evening as I had purchased 15 tickets for myself and a group of mostly American friends, eager to experience a taste of Moroccan culture. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment and frustration due to an unfortunate encounter with a particular staff member. Upon arrival at the Alhambra Palace, I noticed that our group of 15 was allocated just one table with seating for 10. I approached a lady manager and politely asked if we could have an additional table. To my relief, she agreed without hesitation, displaying a warm and friendly attitude. This initial encounter with the staff seemed promising and set a positive tone for the evening. However, my enthusiasm was short-lived. During the middle of the show event, an aggressive man approached me, introducing himself as a manager of the palace. He displayed a complete lack of respect, grabbing my arm in a brutal manner and screaming in my face, much to the shock and discomfort of my guests. He demanded payment for the extra table we had requested, and his behavior was entirely uncalled for. This incident left me both disappointed and confused. I decided to inquire with the event organizers, who promptly apologized for the manager's behavior and clarified that he had no authority over the event. They assured me that his reaction was entirely unwarranted and had reflected poorly on himself. It's disheartening to have my evening marred by such an unpleasant encounter, especially given the potential of the event to showcase Moroccan culture to a group of predominantly American guests. The Moroccan show itself was enjoyable, featuring captivating performances and delicious food. However, the overshadowing negative experience with the aggressive manager left a bitter taste in my mouth. While the Alhambra Palace holds promise in terms of providing cultural experiences, the incident I encountered serves as a warning about the unpredictable behavior of some of its staff members. I hope that the management takes steps to ensure that such unpleasant incidents do not taint the overall experience for...
Read moreWe made a reservation for 7:30- on the booking page, it said there may or may not be a show, it just depends on the day. We finished our activities early for the day, so we tried to get an earlier reservation, but everything was booked.
We get there- and the place is almost empty. The lady tells us the show starts at 8. Waiter took forever to come over. We order food, the appetizers came right out. Those were decent, but nothing special. 8pm rolls around- no show. 8:30- still no show. Our food comes out. I got the chicken kefta kabobs- they were nasty. The texture was weird, they weren’t hot enough, and there was no flavor. Everything on the plate was bland. My friend got something with lamb, and said it tastes like mediocre beef roast. We finish eating, its 9pm and theres still no show. We get Tiramisu and Baklava togo (both of these were pretty good at least) We’re waiting on the check, its 9:15- the show FINALLY starts. We are ready to go at this point and dont care to see it anyway.
So- the check comes. We’re already disappointed because the food was trash and its expensive, but that is what it is. What was crappy is that they charged us an entertainment fee of $10 a person (for a show we saw 10 minutes of because they took forever bringing the bill), AND there was an added 18% gratuity for 2 of us. On the menu it said that would be automatically added for groups of 4+, not 2 people. Service wasn’t great, but we still would have at least tipped 20% anyway. Since it was already added, we didnt tip more, and the server still asked for a tip! We pay, leave- and the next day we noticed we also paid a $15 credit card fee- they didn’t say that or even give us the option to pay in cash. $215 wasted for us, I’d never go back
Also- we both had tummy aches all night, it was awful. Overall the whole experience was weird, seems like they just trying to get...
