I am so disappointed in the lack of care when you claim you have the “best chicken in the world”.
I haven’t been to Harold’s chicken in a few years just because I haven’t been on the west side but yesterday I was working at the United Center a 13 hour shift and I only had one break, I chose Harold’s chicken.
I get there. I wait I get my order I get back to the United Center boom no sauce on the side for my food. I don’t understand you’re famous for your sauce just because I want my sauce on the side in which you charge me to get it on the side does not mean that I should get back to work and I have no sauce on my chicken.
So I chose not to eat it. I called back. The gentleman was really nice. He said I could bring it back, but I couldn’t bring it back until my shift ended which was at 9:30. I get to Harold’s chicken. I kindly tell the gentleman what my ticket number was and what the incident was. He didn’t have a problem with it.
When I got home, sat down on my bed open that bag of chicken. It was disgusting. I’m just confused as to how you can claim. You’re the best chicken in the world when you don’t even serve quality every single time there should not be or hit or miss there should not be a moment in time where as a person is writing a bad review get yourselves together this is not fair to people who by the way going out to eat now is a luxury because I could’ve taken that $15 and did anything else with it instead of wasted on something that I valued at one time to be the best chicken in the world.
But you guys have fallen off you need to have quality product before you serve. You need to have better cooks that care and pay attention to the food that they’re serving.
I am done with Harold’s chicken at this point you guys really need to get it together if you want to save your brand. Because the way that is looking, you guys are going down in the next 5 to 10 years no one is going to buy that chicken because it’s not quality and it’s a waste of money. This is...
Read moreThis was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had!. I called in to the restaurant to place a large order for my staff to show appreciation. We placed the order on line as instructed by the Manager of the Harold's Chicken at 1501W Madison Street. The reply email stated that our order would be ready at 11am. We arrived to the restaurant at 10:50am and waited patiently for the doors to open. At 11:02 we approached the doors to then be told by the custodian that the cook had not arrived and this was a normal situation at this location. Because the cook didn't arrive obviously our food order was not ready and I had to make quick arrangements to get food. I was able to find Chicken at Buffalo Sam's on the westside of Chicago that prepared the chicken and fries that I originally ordered from Harold's Chicken. I later contacted the Manager about the situation to inform her of what had occurred. The Manager immediately got very defensive, took no responsibility and told me, " Things Happen" After realizing that this Owner was not willing to see that this entire situation was a huge inconvenience for me and my staff I decided to disconnect the call and never choose this restaurant ever again. And to make it even worse she did not want to refund my Human Resources Manager for the order we DID NOT receive!! I do not usually ever write reviews but, the way the Manager /Owner handled the situation with no empathy or care really made it clear for me. This place will NEVER get any business on a personal or business level again and I DO NOT Recommend anyone to visit...

I make intentional and deliberate trips from Michigan several times a year to buy chicken from this location and over the last few years, the quality of the chicken has dramatically changed.
My most recent trip here earlier this week, I purchased an 8-piece mixed bucket the take back home which is a 3-hour drive. I get home and open the package, my order looked more like a small basket order instead of the larger aluminum container they usually put ii in but that’s not the issue.
The issue is that I purchased $30 worth of food that looked like it came from wingstop. For an 8-piece, the thigh pieces were smaller than the palm of my hand, the drumstick pieces were the size of buffalo wings (very small), and the side of okra tasted bland. There was very little salt on any of the food. There were also fries included which I never ordered.
The last time I ordered from this location, the young girl working there had a really nasty attitude and walked out of the store in the middle of several customers who were waiting for their food, surprisingly she still works there. Same snippy little tone in her voice, but I didn’t dwell on it. Just picked up my order and left.
I’m hoping that this was just a fluke so I will give it a try one last time when I’m back in town. If this turns out to be as disappointing and the last couple experiences over the last two years, I will then take my experience to social media. This last order of food was a complete joke and there’s nothing I can do about it because I ordered it on the way...
