Stopped by Lone Wolf on a birthday celebration and to hell with that place...

We explained to John (our terrible bartender) that we were there to play "credit roulette" (we all input our credit cards in and the bartender chooses one at random) with the eight, highly excited patrons that were paying an average of $17.50 per drink, and he immediately jumped on board. Or so we thought...

It was quickly obvious, however, that John put his tip/revenue above our overall satisfaction and happiness, as he messed up our order and proceeded to blame US for HIS mistake. This was just the beginning...

Although we asked him to pick one of our four credit cards at random in front of us (for excitements sake), he walked away, grabbed the card on top and charged the entire tab without our consent. When he returned and we politely asked him why he did that instead of what he had agreed to, he rudely told us he was too busy to play games. Although we weren't happy with this answer, we accepted and finished our drinks so that we could close out and leave quickly as possible.

After our unlucky "pick" tipped generously and closed his tab, John sarcastically informed us that we were "the best" and turned to leave before we could even say a word. Totally professional.

Needless to say, we were not impressed with the service we were provided. The drinks were close to worth the ridiculous pricing, but the service didn't come close to worth it, as his attitude and arrogance easily overshadowed the overpriced spirits.

We will not be returning to Lone Wolf, nor will we be recommending this establishment to any of our many friends and acquaintances. Thank you, John, for casting an ominous shadow on an otherwise fantastic birthday celebration in this wonderful city that we...

630 pm on Saturday March 1st. Ridiculous bouncer gave us hell for just trying to walk in the door. I was tired and had bought a diet coke as a pick me up down the street after visiting Haymarket. He starts yelling at me as soon as I walk in. Starts saying it had alcohol in it. It did not. I offered for him to try it or smell it. He doesn't. Just keeps jawing. I voluntarily throw it away as I dont want to deal with nonsense. Idiot keeps jawing still. I basically have said nothing at this point, haven't fought him and have been fully compliant.

At this point I'm done. My gf is up at the bar unaware of this nonsense and has already ordered drinks. I tell her we are leaving. Another guy stops me and asks if the bouncer was giving me a hard time too. He's with his wife - clean cut and soft spoken guy. Says the bouncer was accusing him of being drunk or high. He's stunned by the whole thing. He is also clearly not drunk or high, but a little in shock. They too decide to leave. Tell bouncer I'll never be back. He says I'm not allowed back. He apparently owns the place. Unreal.

Been here literally 40+ times over several years. Have brought friends with us too. Have spent lots of $$$ in other words - never had or been a problem. Here or anywhere else for that matter.

Well, end of an era. Never again under any...

Since my last review was deleted, I will be re-writing it til the owner takes accountability. I got denied when I had a real ID and the old man with the glasses and black hat with american flag on it didn’t allow me in. He said because my license was expired for a bit that he couldn’t let me in, so I offered to grab my birth certificate to prove I am of age and he said no. He was extremely disrespectful and when I told him I could even get a cop here to verify my age as well, he said he simply didn’t want to let me in. I have multiple witnesses to this behavior and this is the last chance to make it right before I have my lawyer involved for harassment/racism after the comment made of “probably not even a legal citizen” Extremely unprofessional and quite frankly disgusting. I will be making everyone on my social media platforms aware of this. If this review gets deleted again and I receive no response to my email, I will have my lawyer handle this. Thank you! Attached is a photo of the man who’s appears to be in his 70’s...

Dropped by here for a happy hour and was happy with their beer offerings, the amount of open tables inside and outside, and the general “renovated dive” style that they’re going for (and exceeding in). Vibe and atmosphere were solid; Staff were direct and to the point - not overly welcoming but that’s ok because that’s the vibe. There was a plethora of corporate dudes sitting around the (stylish) bar, which isn’t my thing but speaks to the climate and reality of West Loop. All-in-all, a nice spot worth grabbing a single drink or two at. Need to note, however, that I was disappointed in this spot because the only food option was tamales. I love tamales but was let-down that that was my only option. The thing is, when I’m drinkin a beer I really want something crunchy and salty to munch on. Even in divey spots there’s something to chew on. Tamales just don’t do it for me in that regard (again, nothing against tamales). All that said, honestly, this spot gets a 3.7 but I round up so they’re getting a 4 here on Google.

I've been going here for years since my office is right up the street from here. Hadn't been in awhile so wanted to swing by, but I kept asking myself "what happened here??" It was $80 for two drinks a piece which I think is crazy expensive and please look at my photo attached... Old fashioned had the LARGEST ice cube I've ever seen with barely and old fashioned and had the most bitters ever. If you are charging me $18 for a drink the least you can do is give me more alcohol and not think I won't notice a massive ice cube. Call me crazy because we ordered drinks again to think maybe they messed up the first ones. NOPE! Same cube and awful drink. This used to be a great dive bar to go hangout after work for some beers and good whiskey, but now it's trying to overcharge you since the west loop has become trendy. Def won't be coming back anymore... Drinks - 1/5 Price - 1/5 Ambiance - 3/5
