These Chicago Spots Are Among OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants for 2025

Really excited to try this place! Tried placing an order on their Toast online ordering platform, and the site glitched both on phone and desktop computer. Wouldn’t let me check out. Tried 4x. Tried placing an order via phone and phone goes straight to “Phone number not available.” Tried 3x calling. Reading a previous 1 star review from 3 months ago from a man mentioning the same exact negative experience with ordering, I doubt business owner will care enough to look into this and address the blatant website/phone issues, based on their dismissive business response to him, and also due to the fact that these issues still remain as of today. 🚨Edit 3/28: Wow! I see that the owners were very quick to reply to my review - if only they were this quick to actually fix their faulty online ordering system and phone line! I was willing to try ordering from PIZZ’AMICI again in the future, but after seeing how defensive, dismissive, and obsessive the owners are (ie stalking my profile) I will stay far away and recommend others to do the same. I don’t know how old the owner is, but they’re clearly inexperienced if this is how they respond to (relevant) criticism. 🍕Edit 3/31: Adding business owner reply prior to deletion for full transparency 🍕Edit 4/1: PIZZ’AMICI only added their reply back after getting called out. Seems like they spend more time on their Google reviews than on their pizza 🕰️ Just think - in the amount of time the owners have spent defending themselves here, they could’ve actually fixed their phone/web accessibility problem 🤡

This spot might very well be the champion of the gourmet tavern style pizza! Why 4 stars you ask? Well the restaurant stays busy from the moment it opens, all the way through closing time. Because of the small space inside, this means you're gonna be crammed and slammed against other people from the moment you step foot inside. If you don't like congestion and having to hear other people's loud conversations, dining in is not an option; especially at the bar. The ambiance knocks off a star due to the sardines-in-a-can experience. Even when I'm picking up the order to go, I have to squeeze and maneuver myself not to run into someone's table. Guess that's part of the charm. You can order on the website, and the pizza will be ready at the scheduled time. HEADS UP: if you order a pizza for pick up, and the only available pick up time is 9p, that pizza will not be ready until 9p on the head, so don't expect to show up earlier and hope to get it. Otherwise, this pizza is something I could eat every single day. Luckily, it's priced so high that on principle, you have to treat it like a special occasion ($30-$45 average price for a pie). If you're trying to dine in, there's no debate at all; you need a reservation. Good luck on all that lol. The pizza is definitely one of my top picks in Chicago, and that's saying a lot from a born-and-raise Chicagoan.

I stopped here just the other night. I’m not sure what all the hoopla and fuss is about. Overly hyped and it isn’t all that. While my pizza was cracker thin and crispy the pizza lacked flavor, had a spicy 🌶️ flavor, no real stretchy Italian mozzarella, extremely salty and almost too cheesy with a heavy aftertaste taste. The uncooked raw sausage had a funny sour aftertaste as if it was spoiled. The pepperoni was so blackened that it lacked any hint of the taste of pepperoni as it was seared and over cooked!!! Gelato trio had ice crystals and absolutely 💯 no taste 👅! Horrible! I never ordered the ricotta pie but for some unknown reason I was charged for it when I never even ordered it!! The tattooed guy who took my order misunderstood me and I got charged for a dessert 🍮 I never ordered. It was their ricotta pie and it was dried out and never even came close to authentic ricotta filling! Dried out and salty! OMG! Tasted like cardboard! I made it known to my waiter and was ignored. Money hungry and took advantage of me! Unbelievable! Unfortunately I cannot recommend this establishment. Furthermore I am baffled why it was so busy on a Sunday evening. Apparently there is no accounting for taste. I take into consideration that there aren’t many pizza 🍕 places nearby or in the neighborhood so they flock to this trash 🗑️ establishment 😂 to dine on a burnt pizza 🍕 that tastes like cardboard!!! Here is my advice should you be considering dining here. Run like you’re the only two monkeys boarding Noah’s Ark and it’s starting to rain ☔️!!! No no no!!! That’s a hard no from me!!! You’ve been warned folks! Enter at your own risk!!! The only redeeming factor is the ambiance of the restaurant and the neighborhood vibes. The guy who runs the restaurant is extremely defensive whenever anyone dares to criticize his pizza. 🍕. Each negative comment on Google and Yelp is met with extreme deflection. They simply cannot take any sort of constructive criticism. Your pizza 🍕 isn’t all that!!! If you’re on business you take the heat or get out of the kitchen!! Let’s face the truth. Your pizza isn’t that great. The pizza crust is much too burnt and difficult to choose. Combined with heavy salt and it’s a recipe for disaster!!! Then getting ripped off and taken advantage of when forced to accept a dessert that I never 👎 ordered!!! Bottom line. There are too many other awesome pizza places in Chicago who will make a much better pizza 🍕 without the ego and...
