Smashburger — Restaurant in West Des Moines

Order was completely covered in grease and oil. Took it back to the counter. The person who bagged it tried wiping the oil off the burgers with napkins. The wrapping was still soaked.The person at the register on November 9th between 6 and 6:30 tried to insist there was nothing wrong with them. He refused to make them again. And refused to give my money back. Told me I had to pay for them a second time to get them remade.After arguing with me a full 15 or 20 minutes, eventually called someone. I was not leaving until either I had my money refunded or new burgers made. The person on the phone eventually agreed to remake the burgers which were not covered with grease and oil this time. I think the first time they dumped the fries without letting them drain. Which leaked oil all over the burgers, and had the bottom of the bag completely soaked. The person at the cash register was extremely argumentative and rude. He insisted I had to pay for the burgers a second time, or be satisfied with the oil and grease soaked burgers they made the first time. I would not have fed the first burgers to my dog much less ate them. We have eaten at this restaurant for years, and never had such poor standards or inferior customer service. I can't believe they thought wiping the oil covered burgers down with napkins was within their standards. Or that the person at the register would refuse to refund my money, and argue these oil soaked burgers were fine after wiping off with napkins, for a full 15 to 20 minutes before eventually making the order again. I saw an ad so I went for lunch today. WORST HAMBURGER JOINT EXPERIENCE IN YEARS! Today I ordered a meal and since I hadnt been there in awhile I decided to ask questions about their new items. BIG MISTAKE! she was very rude. For no reason! I had they day off and just washed my truck so I was In a wonderful mood before I arrived at Smash Burger West Des Moines location. It was lunch time and the place was empty so lunch rush definitely wasnt this employees problem. I asked a few general questions. She was agitated with the ask of every question. After uncomfortably ordering I recieved my meal to go. As I was leaving I tried my fries and noticed the were wrong. They messed up My fries they were not smash fries which I had ordered. So I went and politely pointed out the mistake. She told me I did not order smash fries. Ummm yes I definitely did. They smash fries are what make the place and I literally have eidetic memory lol. She just starred me down and would not give me a smash fry. When I definitely asked for smash fries. So rude its crazy. Well I get home after leaving as I dont make a scene. I just wont give a company any more of my business. GUESS WHAT! MY BURGER WAS WRONG TOO!! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. SERIOUSLY EXTREMELY RUDE FOR NO REASON. We decided to go to smash burger for lunch as my wife was craving a burger and I was wanting some good sweet potato fries. I got the iowa burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was good and the blue cheese was a nice touch. It wasn't to strong that it over powered everything but it was a good touch to the burger. I love the sweet potato fries from smash burger. They are always sweet and savory. They are always crispy and just the way sweet potato fries should be. My wife got the bacon avacado ranch club burger. She loves the fresh avacado with the salty bacon. She said her burger was fresh and juicy. We also shared an order of fried pickles. The fried pickles were hot and crunchy. They always have a good fried pickle with good sauce. This isn't our usual go to for a burger but it is a nice change when we want something different. We will be back for sure when we want a change from our normal routine. The wait staff is always friendly and its get your own drink which means if you run empty no waiting for a busy waitress to come and...
