Le's Banh Mi — Restaurant in West Fargo

I was super excited to hear of a new Vietnamese restaurant opening up in town. I ordered the cold cut banh mi along with the chicken banh mi. They were dressed nicely with the carrots, cucumbers, cilantro and jalepenos. The taste was on point but didn't care so much for the bread. It was very dry and flakey. I would bite into the bread and it would turn to crumbs. I'm not sure if the bread sat out to dry too long, but its texture really deterred me from really liking their sandwiches. My kids refused to eat the sandwiches after a couple of bites. The service though was friendly and quick. I might have to give it another chance but was kind of disappointed.

UPDATE MAY 10TH, 2020 My family and I decided to give Le's Banh Mi another chance on Mother's day and they did not disappoint! We had to order to go despite the pandemic. The food was so delicious and full of flavor. Hands down the best banh Mi sandwiches in town. The bread was much better this time around: fresh, chewy with some crispiness. I got the special with char siu grilled pork. Yum! I also got the the grilled beef noodle salad. My husband got the grilled beef banh mi sandwich and fries. He enjoyed it. We also ordered the cold cut sandwiches for the next day. I believe they make their own mayo. The homemade pickles (daikon/carrots) are so good! My children shared the pho soup and it was pretty good. It included sliced beef, meat balls, and tendon. It was a bit greasy as there was a layer of fat that congealed on top of their soup as it cooled down for the kids to eat. We definitely will be repeat customers especially for the banh mi sandwiches. The food is authentic, quick and offer good sized portions. Thank you for another great Vietnamese restaurant...

If what you are looking for is authentic Vietnamese food that is out of this world, look no further. This was my second visit and I had the Beef Stew (Bo Kho) with rice noodles. It was absolutely amazing! Ingredients were very fresh and OH MY THAT BROTH! Very rich and flavorful. Sweet but also very robust and hearty. I love spicy and they gave me some hot paste which I believe was crushed up Thai peppers and maybe oil? PERFECT! All the meat in the stew was perfectly cooked, all the fatty pieces rendered into yummy goodness which just melts in your mouth. Also had the Le's Special Sandwich. Also very very good. Nice balance of crunch from the veggies to softness and chewiness of the pork. If you want to make it euphoric order both and dip the Banh Mi into the stew!

I absolutely love Vietnamese food and this is the best I have had in the Fargo Moorhead area. Actually it's the best I have had anywhere. They currently don't serve Pho but I chatted and they confirmed it will be part of the menu in the future. Order the Stew.... TRUST ME.

Le's Bánh Mì in a word. Superb. The beef noodles were extremely filling without being heavy. The noodles themselves were so light and springy! While paired with the crunchieness from the greenery and the warmth of the meat itself created an exciting experience. Not to mention the flavor!

Both of the sandwiches we tried did not disappoint either. Filled to the brim with delicious meat, vegetables and sauces they make for a great in and out lunch experience.

My hands down favorite dish though was the sticky rice ball! When I first laid eyes on them they were still steaming, fresh from the kitchen. Taking that first bite was like biting into a raging inferno. After giving it a little more time to cool the jucyness of the meat with the heat of the fried rice was something that I can't put into words. Once I started eating I could not stop. Having the two different sauces to dip into to change the flavor made it even better!

All in all the food was something that I think everyone should try at least once. Along with the atmosphere and the super friendly staff this place is going to be one of my regular stops. If you love food then this...
