Their ramen.. don't get it. The descriptions are incomplete. Some ramen say they have bean sprouts and some don't. They all do.
(1) It's not a tonkotsu broth. Their "pork bone broth" tastes like it came out of a package and it just tastes like msg. (2) There is no complexity or creaminess or boldness. There is no flavored oil. You could make it better yourself at home. It's not hard.
(3) Their char siu is a Chinese char siu and not a Japanese pork belly chashu. The flavors are wrong. Beware of this if you ever go here. The flavors of the Chinese char siu doesn't even work with their msg soup.
I ordered the #2 chicken katsu ramen and asked for pork chashu with it. (4) It did not come out with their pork char siu the first time. (5) It did come out with bean sprouts though. Which was not listed in their description.
They of course remedied that. (6) And when they came out with the second bowl they forgot the sheet of nori. Okay. Not a big deal because the whole bowl sucked anyways. The egg was simply marinated in soy sauce. (7) The bamboo sprouts were slimy and unappetizing. (8) The noodles were soggy, as if they were pre-boiled and kept on the side until assembly time. It all sucked.
(9) They forgot the mango chunks in my wife's poke bowl despite us literally checking things off on a checklist template that they made, and use for this exact purpose of being able to simply assemble things from a piece of paper.
(10) At the end they had earth shatteringly exceeded our expectations when they brought us the check book with two receipts, and had forgotten my credit card in their card reader. By the front door.
I took my credit card and we walked out never to return. I suggest you just...
Read moreI have ordered take out (where I ordered one of the suggested poke bowls) and dine in. The restaurant has some Asian touches but they are simplistic. The service is very good. The wait staff is very conscience about getting people waited on and served in a timely manor. There was a little bit of a language issue when I ordered take out but it was quickly resolved. My take out order was the Hawaiian bowl. It was delicious however I’m not used to having that much rice. Dine in we had the tea which was quite hot. You can see by the picture that the cups had no handles so it was difficult to hold onto them until the tea was quite cooled down. I threw caution to the wind and ordered the chive cake without asking what it was. Think naan bread with soy sauce? and some kind of cream sauce plus shredded cheese and salad greens. I would absolutely order it again. The spring rolls were very good. The miso soup was not the worst I have had but not the best. It was underwhelming. The hubby loved his chicken ramen. The shrimp dunburri has a nice sauce. I would order it again. It was enough for 4 meals for me. I would most certainly not hesitate to...
Read moreNinja is a mixed bag of good and bad. The service is fantastic, the establishment is clean and the scenery is beautiful. Their music choices were odd, though. The food was a hit and a miss. I got the lobster Rangoon, which was absolutely fantastic and the spring rolls which tastes cheap. Then I had the ninja ramen. The broth was weak and the entire meal under seasoned. The beef took way too long to chew and was very tough. Some pieces of chicken were well cooked, some were too rough. The shrimp was fantastic though they left the tails on them making it harder to eat. The noodles were okay, neither high or low quality. The portion size is MASSIVE. You get a LOT of food, which makes up for the ingredient choice and price point. I also tried their raspberry tea, which tastes like it was going sour. They remade it and it still had that sour twinge to it. When replaced with Pepsi, it also tasted off. Overall, I probably wouldn't go back, but it wasn't bad....
