UPDATE!!! 01/2025 We returned to La Boheme for a second time, and this time experienced the indoor ambiance – just as enchanting as the outdoor seating we loved on our first visit! The interior is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the chilly evening.
Once again, the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect evening. It's clear that excellent service is a consistent standard at La Boheme.
The food, as we expected from our previous experience, was outstanding. Every dish we ordered was delicious, flavorful, and beautifully presented, confirming La Boheme's place as a culinary gem in West Hollywood.
And of course, we couldn't leave without indulging in the Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding again. It was just as heavenly as we remembered – warm, gooey, chocolatey perfection. This dessert alone is worth the trip!
La Boheme has solidified its place as one of our favorite spots. Whether you're seated indoors or outdoors, the combination of fantastic atmosphere, exceptional service, delicious food, and that to-die-for dessert makes for an unforgettable dining experience. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
11/2024 La Boheme in West Hollywood was a delightful surprise! My wife and I stumbled upon it by chance, and we were so glad we did. The outdoor seating area is just lovely. We were seated under twinkling lights, surrounded by lush greenery, and it felt like a hidden oasis. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing evening out.
On top of the great atmosphere, the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our server was attentive and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable.
And the cocktails? Wow! They were creative, expertly crafted, and so delicious. We both tried a couple of different ones, and each one was better than the last. They really know how to make a good drink at La Boheme.
But the real highlight of the night was the Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding. Seriously, this dessert is to die for. It's warm, gooey, and chocolatey, with the most amazing buttery croissant base. We shared it (we had to!), and it was honestly one of the best desserts we've ever had. Do yourself a favor and save room for this – you won't regret it!
We also noticed a fantastic table right in front of the entrance with its own firepit – how cool is that?! We're not sure how to reserve it, but we're definitely going to figure it out for our next visit.
La Boheme is a great find with a fantastic atmosphere, amazing cocktails, friendly service, and delicious food. We can't...
Read moreWe went here for Valentines dinner and they served a prix fixe four course meal (five with the salmon mouse amuse bouche) for $95 a person. We had high hopes. Our server was very nice and good at her job and none of the negative I'm about to impart was her fault. She even comped one each of our three proseccos each due to the slowness of the kitchen, though we had not complained about the slowness. THAT was not the issue. The salmon mouse in a puff pastry was fine, but clearly in a prefab puff you might get at Trader Joes. The baked camembert w/ honey and garlic slivers was plentiful, but came with only 4 thin sliced baguette bread points (I don't say "toast points", because they appeared to just be dried slices)... not close to enough for the amount of cheese served. We requested a couple more of these small pieces of bread. The server said she would check but we could see we were going to be refused...refused two thin slices of baguette. The table next to us was refused as well. Clearly the server was only doing what she was told, but it was infuriating because the meal was $95, and it was two extra slices of baguette...we were not even given the opportunity to PAY for the slices. I would have given two stars, and you'll see why, if it weren't for the absolute penny pinching absurdity of this. The endive pair salad was delicious. The tuna crudo quality was good but it was smothered...swimming in olive oil. And again, no bread for sopping. But then came the main course. And this is where you could see that the restaurant merely saw Valentines Day as a day to cash in. NO presentation. NONE. Essential the main course was food thrown on a plate. It was as if the soft limp brussel sprouts and the potato gratin (I think?) were scooped from huge cafeteria hotel pans. The potatoes were mushy and had no form. The brussels were intended to be roasted but were clearly prepared far early in gigantic quantities (as were the potatoes) and just kept under a warmer or in an oven, getting soft. The filet mignon and sauce was fine. Not great. The mini chocolate heart shaped desert was cute and good. After drinks and 20% tip, we paid $312 for two. They do make a good vodka gimlet. I would not go here again. The primary saving grace was that my wife and I had such a good conversation...
Read moreLa Boheme on the surface is a beautiful venue and concept. That’s why my boyfriend chose it for my birthday. I have 1 rule for my birthday. No bad vibes.
This rule kept me from asking for a manager because our server took 15-25 minutes to execute any task including his first interaction with our table. So it wasn’t a surprise when he completely forgot my espresso martini twice. Leaving our table as quickly as possible before we could ask for anything else seemed to be the theme for the team.
My guess is that with the service fee (tip) included in our bill (20%), the servers and foh don’t find a need to try. Maybe they just don’t care about the art of hospitality.
Our bill landed north of 600$ for 5 people with an additional 3% kitchen fee also tacked on. I felt neutral to this having seen the kitchen team at full speed compared to everyone else, while walking to the bathrooms (which luckily passed my standards).
Wishing I could say I wanted to tip the kitchen more but when I can make a better version of everything I ate, at home that wish diminished. Sad to say the food wasn’t anything special, nothing to rave about. I wouldn’t send it back but I’m not left craving it again.
10$ performance fee per person. We had a fun time in our booth. The hits they played were fun but I was expecting something a little more original, an experience.
Most importantly my night brought my loved ones together. My very good friend. Our cousin and his partner who is currently fighting cancer. Of course my lovely boyfriend who planned it all.
It was a special night for everyone involved with birthday sparklers decorating the room at all the tables though out the night.
Places like this were created to celebrate special moments. La boheme is a staple no doubt with almost 35 years in the game which is unheard of with most restaurants closing in the first 3 years.
But did it lose its spark? With only one visit it’s hard to say but I can say the service lost...
