I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Niko Niko Sushi in LA, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. Niko Niko Sushi is a true gem, and it deserves all the raving reviews it receives.

I LOVE IT! I can't say enough about this sweet, respectable and friendly little gem that although lies in the shadows of Barney's, streetside, it certainly is a MUCH more welcoming experience than the craziness just kiddy corner from its front door. We were wholeheartedly accepted one night as the very last customers just before closing and were warmly welcomed and never rushed throughout our visit, even staying there well past closing time. The experience was very comfortable and everyone in staff was absolutely friendly, conversational and warm. They even gave us the time of day to have a decent conversation with us after our meal, without any inclination to rush us off. Is it too much to ask these days to not a have pressure-filled, non-attitudinal restaurant experience in Los Angeles that actually respects and values its patrons? We ordered items from both the Japanese sushi bar, as well as from the Chinese menu... everything was delectable, especially the crunchy California roll. The must-have, though, is the salmon sushi, that uses three different layers and types of salmon. It's so on-point and is well worth it. It's also quite filling and we were never, ever pressured to order more. If you're looking for something friendlier easygoing and away from the disgusting LA attitude, this is a must-try. Ordered two rolls for delivery. We have dietary restrictions and made sure to order things we could eat based on the menu. When our order arrived, we discovered they had sauces on the rolls... but the menu didn’t list any sauces for the items we ordered. When we called to ask about the sauces, we found out one roll had a sauce on it that we couldn’t eat. We were also informed that they don’t list sauces on the online menu and that we would have to specify ‘no sauce’ on our order to ensure we don’t get any sauces. That seemed bizarre to me... I wouldn’t want to tell them ‘no sauces’ on my order since there are some sauces I WOULD want to eat and I can’t very well identify all possible sauces I can’t eat to just prevent those ones from being used while still getting those I can have... so overall, I was frustrated by that approach.

With that said, they were very gracious about giving us a full refund for the order and handled it...
