EXCELLENT FIND!
My husband and I visited Morrison Gallery at Sunset Marquis. We enjoyed cocktail there but the menu was not exactly what we had a taste for, so we searched for restaurants in the area. We were intrigued by the menu on Google Maps, so we made a reservation. This restaurant was within walking distance so we strolled over to it. (We were not aware of free parking).
This place has a neighborhood bar and grill feel to it. It is casual but the menu indeed has the fine dining experience throughout.
You can access a picture menu using a QR code, but we were also provided with a traditional menu. The picture menu is fantastic because it shows exactly what you will receive. I am joking here, but it makes it hard to narrow down a decision because it all looks delectable!
The service here is excellent. Our server was very friendly. We did not feel he was intrusive, and allowed us time to enjoy a cocktail, scan the menu. He answered questions we had about the Bellini cocktail as well as items on the menu. He told us about the history of the restaurant, and after dinner, took the time to escort us to a new addition in the back, patio dining called The Atrium.
As a result of COVID, several of our favorite "go to" (historical) restaurants were closed. We are not trendy eaters, we have a very specific taste and have an expectation of certain level of quality and service. This place fits the bill. If you live in or are familiar with Los Angeles, you know that it embraces whatever trend is in the moment, and when the trend has faded, it is replaced by something else. We have been looking for a place with good service, ambience and good food, and after enjoying a meal here (we were there for little over 2 hours), believe that we have found a new "go to" place.
Before dinner, I enjoyed a Lavender Mimosa, my husband chose Bistro Passion (with gold sparkles on top). I have had lavender mimosa at other places, but they did not compare to this one - it was much better - perfect blend of champagne and flavor.
Our appetizer was Escargot. I have dined at French restaurants and believe me when I say that this was the BEST escargot I have had in long time! It was very tender, and the sauce had the perfect amount of flavor.
Our entrees were Chicken Fricasse Pasta and Portuguese Cod. C'est magnifique. Cod was very moist, flavorful, green beans just right amount of crunchy and potatoes fantastic. Pasta perfect al dente.
For dessert, we tried the Cafe Gourmand, bites of three different offerings - creme brulee, dark chocolate cake and bread pudding. The Gourmand includes a coffee, so i chose Cappucino, my husband enjoyed an espresso.
COVID protocols are constantly changing. At time of this writing, there was no mask requirement. Tables were not 6 feet apart but not crowded. Check the website or call before going to be sure.
It was fantastic meal, fun time and we look forward to returning again to try other entrees and cocktails. Excellent service and food, friendly staff and good...

Read moreThis restaurant has the worst service and disgusting food. Don’t let all these 5 star fool you . I took my guest here for an Occasion , they sat us at a dirty table at first, the glass had streaks in it and scratches on inside of cup , chair had crumble and food w dirty silverware . we asked to move. Once moved a waitress who said she was leaving soon came hounding us every 2 mins to rush us to order. The atmosphere itself has lazy employees who sit around at the bar talking having their back turned to the customers and not attempting to busy tables. The African American young lady helped us order except she put everything in at different times cause the food to come out n drinks not synced . She kept being really snappy with my guest when they were asking questions about the menu once ordered the food the hummus came first it was ok n the pita was cold. When we would call on her to get things she kept telling us she wasn’t our server any more and that she was leaving. Then The chef brought out fries that were suppose to come with meal as my guess told waitress , my guest let the chef know and he got snappy as well and said he would re fry the same fries he just brought out instead of making it fresh. Once the food came out the fries were cold which was a clear indicator they didn’t make new ones. My other guest and I got our food the the vegan chicken and the chicken gravy meal we both were not satisfied so we politely asked for a new dish because the chicken on both plates were soggy, not cooked through and had no flavor. once we tried to get our new food the owner came out and made a huge seen asking my guess and I to leave in a very nasty way and said that we were being sideways with his staff which we weren’t they just have low par service , barely seasoned food and waitresses who ignore what you ask for . Avoid at all cost. The owner is rude and embarrassing to his own establishment because he felt no remorse and forcefully made motions with his hands and asking us to drop everything on the table and leave else where because we didn’t...
