If you require the bare minimum, like having a bed, a toilet, & warm showers, this place has just that. The property itself is alright but the level of customer service I received from the agent who claimed to be the rooms manager was just distasteful.
I wasn’t even going to give this place a review but I left with a really bad taste of how the rooms manager handled the issue that I had.
Check out is at 11am & was reminded through the texting communication system they enroll you in during your stay & there was an option to select to choose a later check out for 1pm for $50.
I opted for that & they text you a link for you to click, then you’ll see whether or not it’s approved. I was approved & it was nice to sleep in.
I start getting ready to pack up. Then in between the time I’m almost finished packing and before hopping in the shower, somebody knocks on the door & before I could even answer, they open the door. There was no “Do not disturb” placard in the room, by the way.
I am stunned because I am in my underwear in front of a stranger & even more shocked at the fact that I opted for a 1pm checkout time & the time was only noon. Do the staff members not communicate?
She apologizes as she’s shocked to see me too and proceeds to ask me if I’m extended, and I tell her until 1pm. She apologizes and leaves me to be.
I work in the hotel industry too & I’m usually not one to complain but because I felt violated, I had to tell them.
As I’m checking out, I share my experience to the front desk agent who was helping me, and asking him what I did wrong to be walked in on. He had zero empathy & told me that I needed to speak to the rooms manager because this had nothing to do with the front desk.
I was pretty cool, calm, & collected, didn’t raise my voice or make a scene. I told him that I wanted to speak to the rooms manager, and he told me to wait. Still not empathetic at all.
I stepped aside for the agent to help others waiting behind me, and after helping other guests, he steps out the front desk area and walks towards me, and tells me he’s the rooms manager.
…WHAT.
He tells me that he can’t do anything about what happened because “it’s my word versus housekeeping” and gives me a business card to escalate my complaint because he said housekeeping never did that.
OK so you guys DO communicate, just not about avoiding going inside rooms with extended check out times, got it.
I am shocked because there was no customer service provided. An apology and a little empathy would’ve made it a little better, but no.
Their WiFi is also really u reliable. I stayed in room 320 where I thought was pretty centralized for WiFi to not have connectivity issues, but I did & wasn’t even going to complain about that. Also wasn’t able to get any work done.
If this unpleasant incident didn’t happen, this would’ve been a forgettable hotel experience, which I would rather have than live through that embarrassing incident, and to be disappointed that the manager takes no...
Read moreLet me begin by saying I stay in a lot of hotels. I work in the entertainment industry and I travel a lot. I’m actually a resident of LA and will often rent rooms closer to the location I’m working at. I stayed here for a month with my kids and for the most part really enjoyed my stay. Let me clarify a few things, this is a Ramada not a 5 star hotel. I’m used to 5 stars with room service but this ain’t that so you can’t compare the 2. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Idk why ppl are saying there’s no housekeeping, the house keepers are here everyday cleaning thoroughly. (Very sweet kind helpful cleaning staff). You just can’t be in the room when they clean due to COVID regulations. I agree with others that the carpet in the hallway does have an odor at times… it should be replaced in my opinion but you aren’t sleeping in the hallways so why does that matter? The staff is really kind and courteous. I don’t see how anyone has an issue with them , they were very attentive and kind to me and my children. This is LA be nice to ppl they’ll match your energy. The staff is professional and hard working. Maybe the other reviewers weren’t very nice first idk. The building is a lil dated I will agree with that. The owner really could benefit from updating the bathrooms and making a few improvements without passing the cost onto the patrons (meaning I think they could make improvements and not raise the rates) The cable is satellite and the channels don’t always work. It would have been nice to be able to cast/stream apps from my phone to the tv but no option for that. The wifi is free but parking isn’t. Parking is $40 a night in a secure lot. I definitely think it should be around $10 instead (my opinion). Free coffee with disposable cups in the room and some rooms have a mini fridge and microwave. They don’t have free breakfast at this location either because they don’t have a kitchen. There’s coin laundry at the end of the hallway by the vending and ice machines. 1 load is 3.50 to wash and 3.50 to dry (not bad you’re paying for convenience) The pool is currently closed which is a bummer. There’s a Starbucks in the same plaza and 2 healthy food stores across the street. Plenty of clubs and restaurants, the famous Beverly Center mall about a mile away and infamous Sunset strip a few blocks away. The location is perfect. Very safe area. All things considered, you can’t really complain. I hope the owner reads these reviews bkuz I do feel that this hotel needs a lil TLC so it can...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights for a long weekend and don’t really understand all the awful reviews- glad we didn’t listen to them and get scared away. Like, you booked at a Ramada…not sure why you were expecting The Ritz. I will say that the pool is nothing like it is pictured on the website, which is a big reason we chose this hotel. It was a rinky dink little janky pool in a strange location in the hotel- we didn’t use it. That is what brought the hotel from 5 to 4 stars for us!
We really wanted to stay in WeHo on our vacation, and this was the only reasonable option that wasn’t a motel or an RV hotel for under $250 a night. Location literally could not be better. Directly next to a Trader Joe’s, Shake Shack, liquor store, and dispensary with a smoking lounge. Right on the main WeHo drag within a mile of all the big gay bars. Phenomenal area of LA- we felt very safe the entire time.
The hotel could certainly use some updates, but there were no serious issues. A few things that I think could make a big difference are if they got rid of the popcorn ceilings and added smart TVs to the rooms so you can hook up your phone (the cable options suck and the movies are all $20). But we didn’t plan to spend a bunch of time in the room watching TV, so the TV thing was just a minor inconvenience. They also need to upgrade the blackout curtains so that you can shut them over the top of the AC- we had to use a hair clip to pin the curtains together or else our room was extremely bright when the sun was out.
Everything worked as intended and was clean. The room was cold and quiet all the time. Beds were suspiciously comfortable for a Ramada. We liked the Dove products in the bathroom. All staff we interacted with were kind. They told us at check in that housekeeping was by request only, so we just requested it when we checked in- no issue there.
Overall we would totally stay here again for the location, especially if they make a few updates to the stuff in the rooms that is a little outdated. For now though, it’s perfectly acceptable for a few nights if you want to stay in a walkable area of West Hollywood and not spend...
