Los Tacos — Restaurant in West Hollywood

Big menu, open late (not sure if they ever close). Always a few drunks in here. Service is hit and miss. Decent food though. UPDATE (August 2023): Sadly, this neighborhood staple has apparently gone crazy. I've watched their prices go up consistently, but this last time will likely be my last visit unless things change. First,the prices have gone through the roof. Second, they have instituted a new "administration fee" to all orders, which is added to the price of the item on the menu. Basically,you have no idea what the items will cost until you already paid. They do accept cards now, btw. So, a chicken burrito is listed at almost $9. (One of the best values on the menu) If you want rice & beans, it jumps to about $17. (!!) THEN, they add the administration fee (for what, I have no idea!). A small sign says there is a fee added to all orders - 4%. So, my $9 burrito should have come to about $11 with tax. BUT, they charged me $14! I asked why, and they pointed to the sign. I explained their math was off, and was being charged 40% on top of the menu price. Not only is this a stupid error, but it's unethical and possibly illegal. I pointed it out, they said it's been like that for "years." I said, "That's not true." How many people are paying this at a dumpy taco stand? Stopped in just for a quick bite. Tbh I was just skating by and the aroma wafting out the door was a"put the brakes wayyy on and check this place out bro!", kinda aroma! There's nothing like the interior and homie feeling of finding a good spot for tacos in my life. I fiend for it to be honest. So my review. I only wanted a single Carne Asada taco cuz I'm like that sometimes. But as I am sitting here writing this in the way out I am thinking I need more. The meat was perfect. Not too salty. We all know how easy it is to find those types. Not dry at all! Again, easy to find. The place is clean. But cooked in. House was full but somewhere to sit. The shell was perfectly heated and moist but didn't stick to my teeth and the roof of my mouth. While j was here I noticed what kind of smiles walked in in anticipation of what they know to common here. I could t help but eat every bite with my eyes closed. It was that good. I just wanted full concentration in savoring every bite. I was a little skeptical of the $5 price. But the shells were the larger and the meat was STACKED., juicy , perfectly seasoned and, perfect temp, not cold dry and too salty. Nestled in a strip mall between a 7-11 and a coin operated laundry, Los Tacos seems like it might be a "hole in the wall" Taco joint. Looks can be deceiving though. Yes, the decor leaves much to be desired and the whole place sort of has a left in the 1980's feel to it but the place is clean and well lit. You don't come here for the ambiance anyway. This place had the best Mexican fast food in the area. Calling this place a fast food restaurant is a bit misleading though. Yes, your order is prepared quickly although it takes a little bit longer than other fast Mexican food joints such as Taco Bell. The quality is definitely a cut above fast food though. There is nothing fancy here, just really tasty taco, burrito and other assorted Mexican dishes. They offer combination plates that come with rice and beans along with tortilla chips as well. They have a salsa bar that offers at least 6 different salsas and they also offer a wide variety of drinks to include sodas from Mexico. I love their freshly made lemonade though and usually get a large lemonade with the 3 beef taco combination plate. This just his the spot in so many ways. Probably the best thing about Los Tacos though is that they are open 24/7. This is the perfect place to hit up with friends after a night out clubbing.
