After coming 3 different times trying 3 different teas - I think this is really is the best milk tea place in SLC. It's rare to find an expresso style brewed milk tea place anywhere in the US - my previous favorite place ever was in an entirely different state and brewed that style. Ever since then I've been trying different places here to just scratch the itch.
Expresso style milk tea is great for people who want the taste of tea and not just sugar. But those who prefer sweet flavors will find their milk teas with regular / extra sugar to be good (I get mine with less guar). In particular if you love the tea flavors you'll love the black tea + cream or dong ding + milk. The black tea + cream has a natural floral flavor that pairs well with the cream. The dong ding has a caramel / roasty after taste. I'm also a fan of their grass jelly, it has a nice chewy texture.
I also tried their green tea with passion fruit (also light sugar), which I didn't like at all - I felt the fruit over powered the tea but someone who likes fruity teas might love the natural fruit sweetness.
Opening day was a zoo (I heard weekends were too from family) but the 2 times I came on a weekday lunch break it was quiet and the staff is super nice. The tea can take some time to make but I actually watched them make my tea today from start to finish and there is a reason it takes time - they meticulously measure each ingredient, then the expresso machine has to brew the tea, then it gets mixed 2 times before it's finally...
Read moreTea and only tea Love that the menu is super simple! It makes ordering super easy. You can try their popular items or customize tea by adding flavors and toppings.
Went during their opening in the late afternoon, and it took roughly 40 minutes to receive our drinks. This may be expected since they just opened. The line did go rather quickly, and the cashier was very kind by providing a tea sample and explaining the menu. They also have tea tasting towards the back of the store.
I tried the fruit tea and taro ball tea latte. Both were perfect! I did order the Taro latte less sweet, and I believe it was a good balance. The fruit tea was very refreshing and great for a hot day.
The teas all come in a single size(16oz). It is a little pricey but comparable to other boba shops. They do care about the tea process as they have special patent machines and weigh all their tea orders.
Update: Tried the tea tasting the offer. It is free and Ray was amazing! Very knowledgeable on the tea they serve and gave a great recommendation. This was a unique experience that I have not seen...
Read moreThis boba shop used to be amazing when it first opened. I loved how they let you smell all the different teas before choosing your base, and the customer service was always so nice back then. But honestly, it’s gone downhill. The workers now just stand around chit-chatting in Chinese while making drinks, and they messed up my order.
I ordered a taro bubble milk tea, and it wasn’t even the same color like it used to be. One of the workers confirmed it was taro, so I thought maybe they changed the formula and that’s why it looked more like bubble milk tea (just brown). But nope — they clearly made it wrong. What’s worse is that she knew it was wrong and still lied about it. Can’t believe I trusted her — I should’ve questioned it right away. Really disappointing.
Thank you for the reply — I really appreciate it. However, my drink was missing the taro paste. The staff seemed busy chatting while making drinks, and it looked like they were distracted, which probably caused the mistake. Hopefully next time they can pay a bit more attention when...
