Best Thai & Kung Fu Tea — Restaurant in West Jordan

When I heard that there was a Kung Fu Tea opening near me, I was ecstatic as I have had to drive all the way to Salt Lake to get my fix.

However, I have been extremely disappointed almost every single time I have gone to this West Jordan location with my family, all culminating in today's experience.

Previous times I have gone, the biggest problem has been the poor attitude of the staff and the inconsistent sweetness of the drinks. Sometimes it is too sweet and I have to water it down myself, but most of the time, the drink is not sweet enough-- bordering on flavored water.

Today's experience was the straw that broke the camel's back. I ordered 3 drinks and sat down to wait for my order. There was only one young woman working in the afternoon. 15 mins into my wait, 2 other people entered and made their orders. Instead of completing my order, the employee waited to complete all orders and getting all drinks out, instead of first in, first out, causing me to wait for 30 mins. The 2 other people were unhappy waiting for their order for 15 mins during non-busy hours, so you can imagine how frustrated I was waiting for double that.

A reasonable person would assume that the reason for the delay was waiting for some fresh boba, but when arrived home and took a sip, the boba was incredibly raw -- it was essentially a ball of starch in a sweet drink. Unfortunately I was not able to have a sip on the drive home, otherwise I would have gone back and asked for a correction or a refund.

Needless to say, I will not be returning to Kung Fu Tea, as I cannot support corner-cutting in that way. Boba shops are opening a lot more regularly in the region, so I think your money is best used...

I hate to leave a bad review especially for a place I love to visit and bring friends.

I've visited this location several times since it's opened and anytime I've gone, one of the owners was there and she's absolutely amazing. However the last few months that I've gone there's been a gentleman that's taken my order but has either missed putting boba or put ice when I asked for no ice. Plus the flavor being completely off.

Today I went and I ordered the roasted chestnut slush and watched as he put in Rosehip milk tea. I then corrected him , he said he couldn't find it on his system . But would make it as roasted chestnut and mark it as a coffee slush. I just thought "that's fine."

So when I got this drink below to show you how off it was, it's not even a slush I ordered , the flavor was lacking so I couldn't tell exactly what it is. I checked their online menu under slushes and this one doesn't seem to be there.

I would have asked for it to be remade but I just gave up because I could tell when waiting for this drink to be made( by the way took 20 minutes) that he had no clue what he was doing and was on his phone quite a bit and seemed super distracted. Also the last few reviews said they wouldn't remake and or refund some people.

I personally didn't like it I did not have a good time. If you like boba it's ok-ish but I would suggest elsewhere. There's games you can play in the shop while you drink and snack but that's about the best part of this place. The little snacks you can buy are decent but expensive for what they are and how they taste. The drinks are.... sub par to say the least, the boba was tuff and gummy as well as the drink flavors just overall were lacking.

I had gone with two friends and I personally ordered an Oreo on Oreo with no boba, I ended up with a lightly Oreo flavored drink that had a gross coffee aftertaste and boba even though I asked multiple times for there to be none. My friends both weren't happy with their drinks either. One had gotten a macha boba and the other although I forgot what she had gotten she ended up not drinking majority of it as she couldn't finish it due to the texture and flavor. I had also ordered multiple sides, paid for them, and only had gotten two. I tried talking to the boy at the desk but he seemed either too distracted or just couldn't understand that I needed another that I paid for but didn't get. Ended up just leaving and going home.
