Yikes. I had read Google reviews before coming here but I wish I'd checked out their Yelp reviews.
Prior to coming here for my hair, I had sent a detailed description of my hair currently (the roots were a pale yellow, the mid-bottom shaft was an ashy blonde) and had sent pictures as well. I made it perfectly clear that if they were unable to fix this, I was happy to make an appointment elsewhere, no problem. I was assured they could do it. I again reiterated I wanted my hair to be the same color, whether that was ashy, silver, a darker blonde, etc, I just wanted it to be the same. (Previous salon hadn't lightened my roots enough, even though they're a level 7 - 8 blonde to begin with.)
I get there and there are 2 stylists going back and forth over what to do with my hair, and a decision is made. I wasn't sure if my stylist was new or what, since there were repeated questions to all other stylists. This should have been my que to leave. The decision relayed to me (level 8 on my roots, 10 on the ends) is not the decision that was later relayed to the owner/manager, but I digress.
1.5 hours later, I have odd colored roots (not pale yellow, but my hair is still weird and the coloring is way too warm.) The other stylist (not the one doing my hair... but the one who made the decision on what colors to use..) comes back and says (verbatim) 'I always find myself so disappointed with ColorBrand*. I want to trust it'll come out right but 80% OF THE TIME I SEE RESULTS LIKE THIS AND AM DISAPPOINTED.' UH?? What?! I don't want to be one of your test subjects! Why in the world would you decide to use a color on someone and then later tell them that 80% of the time the color turns out disappointing? Thank you for charging me $80 to just be another 'disappointing' hair statistic for your salon.
The manager (or owner?) comes over after because I'm clearly upset, and says they should have bleached out my roots to begin with. The stylist tried to say I said I didn't want them bleached which was not the case at all. I said I'd prefer to avoid it, however, if that's what it took to get my hair the same color then so be it. I was then told they couldn't fix it today (I'd left work early and had to use PTO) but to come back and they'd bleach it out (it was the roots all over, not just the top.) No thanks. If that's what it took, they should have done that the first time, not colored my hair and then decided 'oh hey we should have bleached it and then color it again.'
Super unprofessional, $80 down the drain, and literally a week later my hair is back to where I started with the grossly warm (and awful colored) roots. I'm so disappointed and would definitely not recommend coming here if you're looking for blonde results. The service was mediocre, I was talked down to condescendingly multiple times and was specifically told a product they didn't have faith in was used on my...
Read morePlease do not fall for the cheap prices here. You're going to get cheap quality. Marren has only been there for 6 months and it shows. She clearly does not understand how to do a Balayage. She had me leaving looking the same way I walked in. Bleached my hair to just darken it back to the same black color. She had me leave with wet toner still in my hair. She tried to was wipe it off with a damp towel but couldn't bother to wash it out. I asked if someone could wash it out and she said no. She did not style the hair either given she had another client at 4. She apologized and admitted fault profusely and told me to come back to fix it, no charge. When checking out she apologized again and said she woulsnt charge me for that day but had to because its policy. She even said don't worry about tipping it was totally my fault. I agreed to go back to have it fixed. I come back to sit there for 10 minutes while she's "mixing a bowl" to then have her come out stating her manager/boss (who is on maternity leave) stated she would have to charge me for the product because its "policy." I asked her are you joking? I would now be paying $145.00 total to fix your mistake? Marren then back tracked and said there must have been a miscommunication on hers and my end when she did my hair originally. Again she admitted fault on Friday and stated she would not charge me because she made the mistake. I asked her why didn't she tell me that before she scheduled me again to come back and be there she said she didn't know. She clearly doesn't know what she is doing. When I asked to speak to the manager, she replied that she is not there and is on maternity leave. Please avoid this place at all costs. It is much worth going to someone who has been doing hair for years and has a better reputation. I definitely got what I paid for, low quality and inexperience. Also when I was there she and another hair stylist were discussing another client who had left with wet hair and claimed the color was fine only to come back and complain about it later when the hair was dry. That hair stylist asked Marren in front of me do you want to charge her the product or just fix it. Marren debated and elected to charge the client given that client had willing left with wet hair. She even commented that i told her not to leave with wet hair because dry hair looks different. So now telling me that it's "policy" sounds made up. Avoid this place...
Read moreI want to start with the positive, I truly believe I came out with a great haircut.
I went in for a wash, cut and style. Despite making my appointment over two weeks ago, it felt like a walk in experience at somewhere like a Great Clips. The assistant that was helping to wash hair, she barely touched my head, so it was disappointing when the majority of salons give an attempt to a head scrub/massage. The haircut, again, I got what I wanted, but at some point during the cut, the stylist nicked herself. I don't know when in the cut it happened, because she only addresses it once she was done cutting my hair. When she went to style my hair, there was no oil or leave in conditioner..if it was an option, it wasn't provided. I wasn't asked how I wanted to style my hair, curling cream was quickly applied with a soft defusing. That's when I noticed that my stylist had blood dripping down her fingers. So, I most likely got blood in my hair after she was constantly scrunching it in, around and between her fingers. There was no offer to rewash my hair. I left with still wet hair, and as it dried it became crunchy, tangled and I'm fairly certain had someone else's blood on it. It's crazy, but the most disappointing part is when I get my hair styled, it's with the idea that my hair will look good for at least two days after, ESPECIALLY on a Friday, into the weekend. Instead I went home, rewashed it and styled it myself, making 2/3 of the appointment pointless in my opinion.
To be clear, I have gone to salon's, gotten a wash, cut, and styling for $50 and received the leave in conditioner, oil, dry shampoo, and head massage. I was asked the questions about my hair health, journey, and how I want to style it all in the allotted hour.
Lastly, if there's a place for purses, backpacks or jackets, please let it be known. I had to place mine at my feet and kick it around a few times to get out of the way of...
