Five Guys, Hammock Landing Town Center, 225 Palm Bay Road, NE, Suite 182, Melbourne, FL 32904-
3-Stars (Fast Food Rating)
As a native Brevardian, I continue to be baffled by the ongoing population explosion in the southernmost part of our county. When I was but a wee galactophage pouring copious amounts of milk onto my Fruity Pebbles, Palm Bay was just a sleepy little burg of no more than 3,000 people. In the past 50 years, however, it has grown into a diverse megalopolis reminiscent of an Atlanta suburb filled with your tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to scratch out a living. As I see it, the food scene in this area can be broken down into three distinct groups: (1) Fast food/chain restaurants; (2) Small mom-and-pop shops serving up dishes from every Caribbean Island and Latin American Country on virtually every street corner; and (3) (and this is the smallest category), Everything Else.
Today we venture into the mixty-maxty badlands of Palm Bay for Five Guys, a relatively small national fast-food chain started in 1986 as a family burger joint in Arlington, Virginia. Since its inception, Five Guys has grown to over 1700 franchises around the world, with another 1500 locations in development. Over 100 of these stores are found in the State of Florida. Three of these serve the Space Coast, the other locations in Viera and Merritt Island.
Five Guys distinguishes itself from other fast food burger purveyors by using fresh ground beef, cooking its fries in peanut oil, and only having coolers on their premises--no freezers--in a demonstration that their food is fresh and never frozen.
I ordered myself the Bacon Cheeseburger all the way and noted that the hand-formed meat was better than the average frozen patty found elsewhere. The veggies were indeed fresh, and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe. To complement my burger, I made an order of Little Fries Five Guys Style, which were properly cooked and seasoned.
Although this meal was nothing to jump up and down about, I found it to be a great alternative to the Big Three burger chains.

Read moreGood place for a hamburger and Fries in Palm Bay This location is one of the over 1300 locations in the United States. It is located in the shopping center on the northwest corner of Palm bay Road. It is located on the corner of an out parcel to a large open shopping center with a challenging traffic pattern and limited parking in front of the south side of the store. There is searching both outside and inside. The outside tables are round metal tables. The inside dining area has about 20 4-person tables of various heights with metal chairs. You enter through the front door in the corner of the store. You order at the counter, pay, receive a number and wait for your food to be cooked to order. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. You can see your order being prepared behind the register. The cost of 2 hamburgers, 2 drinks and 1 order of french fries was over $30 so it is not as cheap as it once was. Drinks are from a serve-yourself station with 2 large electronic coke machines, ice, and condiments. All the tables and surfaces were kept very clean by one individual that did not stop wiping down the entire restaurant the entire time I was there. Overall a very pleasant, delicious experience that was a little higher priced than our...
Read moreI placed an ordered over the phone since I was unable to add two patties to the TikTok grilled cheese sandwiches I wanted however after picking up my food and returning to my salon I immediately noticed I had the wrong order. I called the store and spoke to who I believed to be a manager and was told my order was given to someone else and that I had their order. He offered to replace the order at that time however i had other clients waiting and could not take that ride back to the restaurant to help correct their mistake. Today I called and spoke to one of the store managers by the name of Rick who’s privileged and entitlement empowered him to be verbally disrespectful and he even went as far to call me hostile, like how can someone be hostile over the phone? His unprovoked attack instilled fear in me instantly. His anger and the way he spoke assuring me no such mistakes like that could’ve happened in his store! People that are that unhinged who result to anger over a customer’s feedback and perception shouldn’t be working with the general public! He shouldn’t be interacting with the general public at. Shame on #FiveGuys for empowering such a horrible human being. People be careful, I wouldn’t trust someone that unstable...
