Lengthy review, so apologies in advance. Yet I have never and do not post a negative review unless it's warranted. This isn’t my first time here yet will be my last time here!
Have to give a star yet this is the worst and management (Andy) no help! Poor service I had to shout for service while they , the *bartenders, were on their cell phones talking doing everything except taking care of me a customer at the bar.
*They did ask the people to the left and right of me if there were OK and never checked in with me. I was patient because everybody has a bad day, and things were busy at the time but then when the bar cleared out and they still didn't come my way or notice me when I tried to get their attention Another patron (white man) noticed my attempts and he asked/called out one time and that's how I got service. I was the only black woman at this bar it was awful.
Left with another customer, sitting next to me who I met, and asked the *bartender/Joe before I left if my drink and food would be okay. He said yes. Tipped my stool to show someone was sitting there and then when I came back (5 mins later) my drink and my food including my bill/check, was cleared/thrown out yet the women I left with (a white woman) her drink was still there.
I said something about what happened with my food and drink and Joe argued with me as if it was my fault my food and drink were dumped. I asked for my check and was refused as if this solved and absolved the poor service and behavior. (*Other details available for the BJs corporate)
The manager Andy didn't even try to help me. I tired to talk to him the manager Andy (was told he was his cigarette break outside on the patio of the restaurant) . I asked for his consent before sharing and told him my experience. Asked for my check and he said he couldn’t do anything about my check and he brushed me off about the check and about the service.
Joe was rude again, then he /Joe refused to take my order for what was thrown out. Again I asked for a manager. Tried to talk to the manager(Andy) and he told me I had to leave because I was harassing, argumentative and disruptive guests and Joe at the bar.
This was not the case. If I this was the case/my behavior was so disruptive why wasn't I asked to leave before I raised an issue with the treatment I received? Also I met and interacted with multiple guests.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. What's the point of contacting/asking for a manager (Andy) at this place-BJ’s-if the manager is going to make the situation even worse. He did not know what happened, didn’t ask about my experience, didn’t offer any solutions, or try to listen to me. An apology may have helped yet non offered. Instead Andy called me argumentative, disruptive, harassing and threatened to call the police with no basis plus in his own words “you didn’t do anything wrong, I don’t know what happened yet you need to leave or I am calling the police.” Why what did I do? I said call the police because I've done nothing and he Andy walked away.
I've seen this place with drunk patrons and none of them have been treated this poorly as I've been. They manager (Andy) and bartenders have been nice and attentive to theses patrons and not asked to leave. What is the difference with me? Why wasn't I treated with kindness? I did Nothing. I experienced microaggressions and a discriminatory approach. Calling the police?! Again Why?
The BJ's leadership is lacking and this is why the these employees can do what they want to do without any accountability or a customer satisfaction approach.
I was harassed and mistreated.
Joe’s actions yet Andy’s actions as a manager is appalling. If nothing changes your/ BJ's reviews will continue to be subpar, so BJ's needs to do something different with the leadership and customer service, diversity and inclusion training, as well as, team development is needed

Read moreMy experience today was very unpleasant, unprofessional and unacceptable thanks to the manager Carl and the waiter Shyanne. First of, the waiter was not friendly or engaging, it’s like she was not happy with her job or she did not want to service us. I ordered a mojito, and my friend got one of the strawberry drink. She then came back with my friends drink and said mine would take a little while bc it’s coming from the bar, I then said it’s ok I will get one of those drinks my friend got bc hers came faster, I started to ask her what was the mixture in one of the drink in the picture, since the ingredients of the drink was not on the menu, before I made a decision she had already put the same drink that my friend had in. Instead of her telling me what the drink was made up of and asking if I would like that instead, she put the order in without my knowledge. The manager Carl then comes over to our table a few mins later to say, “please don’t put in multiple orders of a drink then change your mind bc he have to void them and the system cannot tell if it’s a void or duplicate.” I was completely caught off guard & upset bc I have never had a mgr come to my table to tell me I cannot change my mind about a drink bc he have to void it, after the same waiter told me that the drink was going to take a while at the bar. Mind you the drink never even came to the table yet. I never used a racist comment before but I honestly feel that we were racially profiled, I know for a fact he would NOT have ever went to a table of white people and made that remark. We are the customers, how dare you come to my table and tell me I cannot change my mind about a drink that haven’t come to my table yet and was originally delayed due to your bartender inadequacy and slowness, matter of fact the restaurant wasn’t even busy at the time. Side note: another waiter finally bought over the Mojito after we finished our appetizer /while we were at least half way finish with our meal smh. I turned it away. And the reason we did not get up and leave is bc we had a long day and were starving at that point, but next time I will definitely leave an environment like that and not spend my money there. I have a lounge/restaurant in SoFl and I would have never went to my customers and tell them they cannot change their mind about a drink to the waiter while they are still taking my order. The waiter made it seem like she could not tell us that it would be a problem for the mgr to cancel the first drink or she probably told the mgr that I was being indecisive. Either way that situation should not have happened the way it did and I will never visit that location again. Thanks for a terrible service Carl and Shyanne, and at the end of it all we still left her a tip on top of that terrible experience, Do Better Next Time. I hope no one else have to experience that...
Read moreTo begin we were seated in a timely manner everything was good when we sat down. Kelly our server came to the table put the menus down and started throwing the coasters down the table. It was strange because she could have handed them to us and we would have passed it down but we didn't think too much into it. Ordered drinks and mid sentence Kelly storms off as if we were bothering her and again we were like maybe she's having a bad day. Kelly was very dismissive but when she was rude to the table across from us at least we knew it wasn't just us.
Fast forward where the issue began. One steak entree was rubbery so we sent it back to order something else. The chicken pasta was bland no flavor at all so we asked to order something else and sent that back as well. Kelly stormed off each time and then started ignoring us. The rest of the food was delicious. Out of no where Tom comes storming down the aisle eyes wide and very rudely yelled what's the problem huh what's the problem. I stood up and said hold on what are you talking about when did we have a problem. Tom said well she meaning Kelly said you had a problem and you sending food back. So I explained the problem with the food and the fact that we wanted to order something else. Since when that's a problem. He then storms off and I watch him walk off behind Kelly so I chose to follow due to the mannerisms they were displaying. I over hear them being very disrespectful making it seem like we were being rowdy and trying to get a free meal. As they were ranting about my family and I Tom turned around and seen I was standing there listening. I advised both Tom and Kelly that I heard them degrading me and my family as if we were looking for a free meal and lying saying we were being anything other than polite.
Tom begins to scream and tells me this is a multibillion dollar company he doesn't care about my order and if I call corporate it doesn't matter because he won't get fired. No one said anything about being fired I wanted the same level of respect that I given both him and Kelly. Instead we were insulted, screamed at and humiliated in front of the staff and other customers sitting in front of us. It was uncalled for, unprofessional and very disrespectful. Tom was trying to provoke us to acting out of character to justify his own behavior. I chose to let him look like a fool and advised him I will be writing all the reviews I can and reaching out to the corporate office as many times necessary to ensure no one else expletive this level...
