Tonight I arrived at Grandview Public this evening around 7:30 to pick up a curbside order that I had placed online. When I pulled into the parking lot where the curbside spots are located, as I've done many times over the last year, I was greeted by the valet worker. Before I could even pull up to where the stand was located, he walked in front of my car to prohibit me from pulling up and moved towards my window. I put the window of my car down and informed him that I was not there to valet, but I was there to do a curbside pickup for food that I had ordered. He tells me that he will not allow me to park in those spots (which are both empty) because he wants to use them for valet. I then asked why because I'd done curbside pick ups multiple times before and never been told this would be an issue. He informed me that he is the manager, that he makes his own rules when he is working and that he would "not allow me to steal his money because he wants more tips from valet parking." While he was saying this, he was yelling at me. I asked him why it was an option then to select the curbside pick up when ordering and he said he didn't know, it was separate from HIS parking lot and he can do whatever he wants. Then he proceeded to continue yelling at me and telling me he would call his boss if I wanted him to, to which I replied, no thank you. I then tried to pull away and he got closer to my car and followed me, while continuing to yell at me about how he could call his boss. I pulled down my mask, asked if he could not hear me, and told him no thank you, but that I didn't appreciate him being so rude. I tried to pull away again and he did the same thing with walking beside my car while holding the phone up to his ear. I asked for his name and he told me it was "John Doe." Then he says "Rob I have some woman here from UberEats who..." and another car pulled up who he went to help, so I could actually pull away without needing to worry about hitting him or him trying to reach through my open car window. Then I spent about 15+ minutes looking for parking as your venue is always, and understandably, busy on Friday nights. But this was a lot to put up with just to pick up the $30 pizza and wings I had ordered. The about 15 minute trip turned into a much bigger ordeal.
I love the vendors and the environment at Grandview overall but this experience was disturbing. Hopefully they can speak with the valet workers as there are many other places I can grab similar food products without...

Read moreMy daughter had her sweet 16th at Grandview on the dock in the evening of Jan 2025. It was magical with the dim lights, extra battery candles, and fairy lights that I bought to decorate the space. The owner was super nice, asking us if we needed anything, and Samantha and Kelly, who were assigned to our event, were incredible! They helped us decorate, made sure the food was to our standard and kept filling the buffet area when the food and drinks were gone. Very attentive! The DJ they recommended was fantastic and interactive with the teens. The Chef who cooked our food was very attentive to our allergy needs. He was so supportive, and the food was excellent. Even though it rained a bit that night, the kids had a blast the party was nonstop. The dock area was ok with the rain; the floor did get wet but not flooded. It was not slippery. It was just inconvenient with the rain, but as mentioned, it did not stop the party! Can't stop Mother Nature... Oh, having the bar open during the party for the adults was a hit! We didn't have to pay extra for a bartender fee. We just opened a tab for the adults that were invited to the party. The dads were watching football, chatting, and having drinks while the moms socialized and had their drinks. The teens enjoyed their own space. Overall, I recommend having a party at Grandview, it was an open space and had everything we were looking for: casual and chic, not stressful. Samantha and Kelly helped cut the cake and pass it around. Kelly made sure every guest, including the grandparents, had cake. The service was exceptional! I honestly didn't have to do much, just enjoy the party we had for our daughter. Would definitely come back if we have another party! Yes, we tipped the chef, DJ, Samantha, and Kelly....
