I am a long time attendee and season ticket holder. There are so many great things to say about the center. The parking is very good and they do a great job of getting people in and out and also offering free parking. The place is beautiful and we are very fortunate to have the center in the community. Many very good shows. Overall good staff and overall great theater experience.
This season I have been to "On Your Feet" and "Aladin". Our group has seats in the center orchestra level from the front to row M. Very disappointed in the quality of the voices being amplified in both productions which made it almost impossible to understand what was being said. I don't have hearing problems and do not wear hearing aids. I just had a very hard time understanding most of the dialog in the productions. There were 8 people in our group from the age of 16 to 80 and everyone agreed. It seems like the voices are amplified and pumped through a single center channel speaker that is not doing its job well. You can't tell where the voices are coming from and the quality of the voices sounds almost like AM radio. I can't believe that the production crews are happy with this. The orchestra and the sound effects overpower and drown out the dialog and singing. Is there a problem with the microphones, the blue tooth the track mixers the speakers? Whats the point of going to the theater if you can't clearly hear the spoken word. Also we have people from all over the world coming here that are not native English speakers like me. I cannot imagine that their experience is not worse than mine. If you don't already know there is a problem, then go to the actors and production teams and they will tell you. Why not comment on this problem. I did a search and this problem has been mentioned as far back as 2015.
The eating and drinking in the theater is a nuisance, but can be overlooked and attributed to the bad behavior of the individuals. However, not fully enjoying a production because of a technical problem with the sound system is something else. This can or should be fixed.
One last small point. I'm very disappointed in reading some of the comments "from the owner" I have seen looking through these reviews. I get that people don't like to hear negative things. However, some responses seemed unprofessional. A negative review is usually constructive criticism and should be met with an appreciative thoughtful response and then some sort of investigation and action. Not everyone cares enough to actually take time to write a review, so assume that when you receive any sort of perceived negative review, more of your patrons have similar feelings. Otherwise thank you for your hard work...

New Year’s Day, our family tradition for the past 5 years is to attend “Salute to Vienna”!Best performance ever! Great conductor and performers! Hospitality at its best! From the minute you enter through security you receive a warm and inviting welcome. Security is painless and efficient. Safety first! We, of course, went right to the bar to pre-order our champagne for intermission. All the bartenders are friendly, professional, efficient and knowledgeable! The prices are a bit high but not crazy like at NFL Stadiums! They also offer a full bar, variety of sandwiches, salads and snacks. They now have covered cups to bring your drinks into the Theater. Wonderful! The beautiful poinsettia Christmas Tree is always the focal point of the main lobby during the Holidays. It’s majestic and magical! Perfect for a selfie! All the volunteer ushers were smiling and helpful. The seating is easy to follow and the seats are comfortable. The Orchestra Section is tight but not a bad seat in the house… The performance was outstanding! Gets better every year! They offer a wide variety of performances. As a member, I take advantage of all they have to offer! Consider becoming a member to get first option on tickets. Totally worth the investment. Intermission was perfect! Our champagne 🥂 was waiting for us. So convenient and allowed us to enjoy it with no waiting! The audience flow is expertly managed professionally by great staff! Warm, welcoming and efficient! Can’t wait for my next visit! I...
Read moreThis visit to Kravitz Center/ Dreyfoos Hall we went to watch Dirty Dancing the movie/ Live musical. Not just because it's one of my favorite films ever but hands down it was a Rollercoaster of emotions that will take you back in time into one of the most sweet nostalgic eras that you can remember. (If you grew up in the 70s and 80s). I'm so glad that I decided to grab these tickets last minute. My seats weren't on the lower level but actually on the Loge section, Row A, Seats 130 & 131, which are right smack, literally in the middle of the theater, and we had the most amazing view possible IMO. If you've never been to Kravitz, it's a spectacular structure. I've been multiple times and I'm still in awe when I walk in. Those red carpet stairs give you a fascinating backdrop to some great photos. Plus the staff is always friendly and make you feel very posh! Back to the show! This is like an upgraded movie experience because yes they play the entire film from beginning to end but every time the songs start, the live band and fabulous singers kick right in and give it their all!!! They performed every song from the soundtrack. You sure will feel like you're at the Kellerman's Resort living with the dancers/ staff LOL. You can get up and dance and sing too!! At the end of the film it's not over till the fat lady sings... the live band plays all the best songs from Dirty Dancing and you're welcomed to dance and sing along the night away. You get to party with Baby and Johnny in all their splendors. PS: RIP...
