My initial phone call on "check in" day (August 3rd) was to the Front Desk and Phillip answered the phone. I told Phillip that we were running late and I wanted to let him know, "please hold our room". His magnificent touch on the phone gave me confidence that my room not only would be "held" for us, but he would make sure that we had a beautiful room. He said, "Mr. Kendrick, please do not worry one minute, your beautiful room will be waiting for you when you arrive....just drive safely and we will see you when you get here".
What a great start!
Then we show up and have the good fortune to get Mary to handle our check-in matters. Within minutes we are checked in and she has dispatched a young man (Felix ?? Awesome!) to our car to gather our belongings. We could not possibly felt more welcome.
I remembered Phillip said he would make sure we had a nice room.....well let me tell you.....Phillip made sure we had a NICE ROOM!!
The next morning, down for breakfast and I am feeling a bit tired.....but, Franklin lifted me right up. Energetic and spirited in every way. Friendly and quick on his feet to get my coffee....he knows his business too! We ate breakfast every morning and his manner did not change.
Housekeeping was 100% plus, plus, plus!!! Why???? Well they provided housekeeping services way above expectations, consistently.
We ate and drank wine in the Bistro and loved it there.
Fast forward to checkout and Dao was "Johnny-on-the-Spot". I can only give him a grade of 125%%%% (Ha!). What a nice man.
As our nice visit comes to an end, I need to I tell you that we arrived back home in Georgia safely but without two of my wife's blouses? She managed the leave two of her favorite blouses in the dresser drawer of our room. So, it is 8 o'clock in the evening and I tell my wife.....you can just forget ever seeing those two blouses ever again. But, I told her I would call and see what I could do with Lost and Found. Ended up (thankfully) with Thierry. Guess what??????????? He located the blouses and in true Marriott WPB fashion, we need to ring up another success story. Thank you Thierry.
I could go on-and-on, but I am running out of allowed space.
You may ask, "what is the secret to Marriott's success in West Palm Beach?" It is simple, great people!!! It was so obvious to me. Thank you all for doing what you did for us!
Finally, a suggestion to improve your Business: Eliminate the Parking Charge......UGH! It...
Read moreWorst experience ever at a hotel, let alone at a Marriott property and holding the Flagship name, nonetheless. I wish I would have know how horrible they could make this trip!!!! They don't deserve the title of Red Roof Inn. We made reservations for 2 room. 1 for our 18 year old child to share with a 53 y/o family member. The day before arrival we realize that our travel plans aren't going to let us get there before them. We contact the hotel via chat. Like we usually do with any issues. They responded only with "your child will not be able to check in before you." So we called the Titanium Elite number. We stay a minimum of 80 days a year at Marriotts and have for many years. If the service we got were like this one, we wouldn't want this status. Titanium Elite did whatever to make it happen, but the hotel was still hesitant, as evidence by the screen shots I will post to support. Upon my son and the other family member getting there the desk clerk told my son more than once that he is not to drink alcohol while there. He said ok. He is only 18. He knows he can't drink. After about the 5th time of finding another way to say it to him, the 53 y/o family member spoke up and said "Ma'am, he won't be drinking today or any other day". They checked them in telling them that breakfast was included with Titanium Elite and Parking was included for Military. They were also sure to point out that the Concierge Lounge was only for our son, and the other key would not have access. But if he wanted to go with our son, then he could be HIS guest, as long as he stayed with him. Our tournament finished early, so we checked out at 0500 the next day. With Titanium Elite, you can cancel your reservation as late as 1600 the day of, or at least according to the Website Titanium Benefits. She was sure to notify us that we would be charged for that day, "for not giving her more notice."
When we got home we were going to call Titanium Elite hotline. They had actually deleted both of the trip stays off of our portfolio. After 24-48 hours they posted it back to our portfolio but with alterations. 1 of our rooms checked in on the 9th. The other on the 10th. They only posted the 1 room, starting on the 9th-12th. They charged both rooms for parking. They charged our sons room for breakfast. They removed our Marriott Credit Card from...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a business trip, as it was located close to the convention center. When I arrived to check in, I was notified I would have to check out halfway through my stay, then check back in the same day but would remain in the same room the whole time. My other colleague was informed that her room reservation was like this as well, and that this was standard for their hotel. The staff assured us again, that neither of us would be changing rooms during the stay. We were told the restaurant was open late, until 12am for drinks, and that one of the rooms specifically had a nice view. Our rooms were booked with a business credit card, we were initially allowed to use the same card for the room deposit with no issues. When we got into the room that was said to have a good view, that was not the case. We later went for drinks in the hotel bistro just before 11:30pm and the bistro staff asked us what we needed like we weren’t supposed to be there, then proceeded to tell us they’re not open until midnight unless the restaurant is busy. During the middle of my stay, I went down to the front desk to check out and check in (as I was directed to when I first arrived) and was told I was not allowed to use the card used previously. When they finally let me use the card, I was told I actually didn’t have a room for a night and they told me they couldn’t do anything. If I was informed about this when I first checked in, I would’ve made arrangements for the night that I couldn’t stay. I quickly had to pack my bags and check out before I was charged extra for check out and figure out where I was staying last minute in the midst of the busy work week. I do not recommend this hotel if you are wanting a convenient, no hassle stay. Especially if you have a big work event you are preparing for during the stay. None of the staff seemed to know the correct hours for the restaurant, policies for check ins/outs or payment policies regarding deposits. Other than the reservation issues, the hotel is very outdated, one of the floors was being repainted during the stay, and the Internet tv options (I.e. Netflix) didn’t even...
