I’ll start by saying we would recommend this inn and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. We stayed two nights in the Sundance South suite. The unit is stylish and well appointed. A small kitchenette offers coffee maker, espresso machine, microwave, toaster, and a wine refrigerator stocked with sodas, water, milk, almond milk, protein drinks, yogurt, and a couple single-serve bottles of wine. Additionally, there were some snack bags and single-serving cereal boxes. These were all complimentary since it seems the inn no longer serves breakfast. We did, however, instead walk over to Hive Bakery which is less than a 1/2 mile away and was actually a nice - albeit pricey - place for breakfast. And I always appreciate in-room coffee makers. ||The inn is located in the historic section of town with block after block of antique bungalows. We enjoyed strolling around one evening checking out the architectural styles and guessing at prices (we underestimated!). It is also a very short drive to the airport. ||We had two quiet nights of sleep with no external noise, and specifically selected this inn since it is adult only. The bed in this unit is a bit too firm for our taste but everyone is different. A younger version of me would have loved it! The bathroom was top notch, with multiple makeup remover cloths (which many facilities skimp on!) and it was spotlessly clean. In fact, the entire unit was neat as a pin. ||The only minor disappointment was (for me, because I like meeting people) the contactless entry that so many businesses have changed to since the pandemic. One of the special things about inns and bed and breakfasts is the personal touch of meeting a staff person upon arrival. I will say that the coordinator was great about communicating check in details by email. We also enjoy meeting other travelers in common areas at inns. From what I could ascertain, the only common area is by the pool and we never saw anyone there. It didn’t look like there is any accessibility to the main inn - but maybe there once was when breakfast was served there. It certainly is a beautiful building from the outside and I would have loved to have seen the inside. In fact, the entire exterior space is so artfully designed and landscaped we were impressed. But it did feel a little too quiet and anonymous which was incongruous with the welcoming vibe of the decor and architecture. I did, however, see a pretty chill doggo through a ground floor window just...
Read moreTraveling during COVID is just a pain. A miscommunication on our part had us arriving at 1:00 (early check in that wasn’t confirmed). We actually walked the mile from one local hotel to this one- with luggage, in 80 degrees. The rental manager wasn’t on site when we arrived and we were given the owners number to call. Two sweaty, irritated travelers presented on Cheryl ‘s front porch to check in. |She apologized and said she’s waiting on her housekeeper so no early check in.|Options-We can leave our bags on the porch and come back at 4. Can we leave our luggage in your house securely?! No she said. She explained that she and her husband are in their 70’s and both are compromised. So no.|We identified ourselves as repeat customers…nothing.|Not even an offer of bottle of water! She actually seemed extremely anxious to have to having a face to face interaction.|When I asked her how much the daily rate rate here was-she said she didn’t know. I wanted to talk to her about the no breakfast being served at the bed and breakfast that charged 420.00 a night! Other places at least stock your fridge with SOME sort of breakfast options such as yogurt or baked goods.|At least make an effort on the owners part to improve the value!|The heated pool was not heated… ? Didn’t ask, but probably COVID related too.|Our unit was lovely and clean, but it is an adjoining room so beware! No soundproofing and we clearly heard our neighbors TV loud and clear.|I think a realistic price point would be more like 320.00 for the NO service and NO breakfast.|4p check in 10a check out. We asked the rental manager for an 11am check out and she never got back to us.|2nd time and last time coming here. But the owners won’t care. Read moreWhen we walked in we were immediately greeted by the owner, Cheryl and one of her dogs, Lucy. Cheryl was very warm and informal, it was a breath of fresh air. She checked us in by our name alone and then went into all the commodities of the resort, which there are many. When we checked in she informed us that we were eligible for a free upgrade but insisted that we check out both quarters to see which one we would like better. She had one of the staff members, Fernando, give us a guided tour of the grounds; the lounge areas, the two pools, outdoor shower, and our choice of suites. We opted for the obvious upgrade to a room with beautiful brick flooring, full sized fridge, stove, and a washer/dryer! Did I forget to mention the king sized bed and dual ceiling fans and the fact that we have our own building???? I think I did. We didn't opt for the full breakfast but after playing with the two dogs for a bit we did have a small breakfast in the library, consisting of a homemade parfait with fresh fruit and a freshly baked pastry from a local bakery. Bar none, this place is one of a kind. I don't usually stay in one place more than once as I like to see what else is out there but I will be back again! Thank you so much for making our get away just that...
