The matcha milk tea: 5 stars. Atmosphere: 5 stars (it was quiet and clean). Beef stew: 1 star (Please read comment below). Comment: The beef stew had three pieces of carrots, it had flavor but its consistency wasn’t thick and I know that Vietnamese Beef Stew has a thin, soup-like consistency, but this was kind of like a beef broth flavored with spices. HIGHEST DISAPPOINTMENT: my beef stew came with three very small pieces of beef attached to skin and the rest was skin and fat—yes, 95% of these pieces of “meat” were actually skin and fat. I politely called the waitress over because I didn’t want to disturb the owner, who was a new and nursing mother, to talk to her about my concerns of the beef. I told her that I didn’t get chunks of beef and that I was in the culinary industry and this was the part that they cut out and discarded so as to not serve to customers. She told me that it comes like that and I asked her if anyone’s said anything about it and she said no. Pho: 3 stars— fresh herbs and bean sprouts and good portions, but the flavor was bland and not on point. Usually you have to add the right amount of the spices and cook the beef bones for at least 3 hours. Maybe every Vietnamese person has their own method, but I wouldn’t call lack of flavor an accomplishment. Sandwich: 4 stars— grilled meat was delicious, but I’d suggest to not be cheap on the cucumbers and pickled veggies, and to add more flavor/spices to the insides of the bread— after all, these are the key components that will complete the recipe. Another note: someone from the kitchen should taste the peanut sauce that they make; if you’re Vietnamese, you’ll know that the peanut sauce for the spring rolls is slightly bland. Maybe the kitchen people are trying their best, who knows; please take this criticism as a stepping stone to improve; I don’t want to judge harshly, so please don’t take it personally, but if you want to know how on point it tastes,...
Read moreThis review is being written based on my three visits at this establishment. And by the end of this review you the reader will understand why I gave the rating I did. I wish there was a negative star because this is what this establishment deserves. Upon entry you notice the cleanliness wich is fine. Each time I've gone and no one was at the order counter. I had to shout out for someone to finally come. On another occasion the young lady was there and paid no attention to me. As I was standing there looking to order. Notice I said excuse me about 4 times before she acknowledged me. On each occasion I ordered the boba teas. Everytime I have gone here the teas was saturated with nothing but water! So I basically paid for jelly and water 😡😡😡. My last visit the young lady was at the counter. I ordered the honeydew tea , Macha green and butterfly pea tea with jelly. Well the drinks were so watered down when I said something to the young lady she seemed to have an attitude when I asked her to remake my drinks. When she did she was being very careless and nasty she tried using a previously used container that was not clean then proceeded to add more water to the drinks.
I can honestly say this is not a place I would want to spend another brown penny. It's a waist of money and time. I've never had such a poor experience not once but three times. And each time it was worse. If anyone knows of a better boba place please...
Read moreAfter having a nice lunch next door, my husband and I went in to grab a frozen boba tea! We were so excited to see we could get our favorite drink as a desert! We even forwent desert at the restaurant knowing this was our destination instead. Taro is my absolute favorite so of course, I went with that. The service was far from what I consider friendly and seemed annoyed we were there. But since it was just a to go order it wasn’t important. The flavor of this drink was so sweet, which I am a huge fan of! Flavor was absolutely perfect, hence my 2 stars and not 1. The drink was pure ice. Had I not had somewhere to be I would have asked for it to be redone which is always embarrassing. However, in this case I would have because it was not drinkable. Literally. I had to CHEW every sip. Just flavored ice and the cold was painful to my teeth so I waited 30 minutes for it to melt to just be able to keep from throwing it away. It was $15 for 2 with tip. The picture I took speaks for itself and I am disappointed to ever give a bad review, but clearly, the staff did not even care enough to continue to blend it further and just handed us 2 undrinkable, but...
